"Organizers of the Republican convention demanded that a group of young Republicans take down their "Build The Fence" signs, a reference to a border fence to fight illegal immigration, while at the Xcel Center last night."
You did not see any anti fence, pro amnesty, or pro illegal stuff either.
The convention had a message to convey and build the fence was not in it.
Get over it.
McCain won and Tancredo lost and lost by a lot.
Isn’t there a youtube video of him refusing to answer a man & woman’s very legitimate questions about the subject? One where the woman was then escorted out of the forum.
His ability to keep the subject at bay makes my blood boil. And I doubt that it will get better, even in debates. Since both he and obama are on the same page on this, I’ll be they aren’t even asked questions about it.
BOTH their positions (his and Sarah’s) must be made clear...BEFORE the election. I want BOTH their definitions of amnesty. This is something, imo, that should have been taken care of already.
Don't need your sarcasm. come what may IS come what may - you could care less. You CAN'T put any ones feet to the fire - so give up your tough talk - unless you enjoy looking juvenile.
“I drank the Bush kool-aid once upon a time (well, the Bush I and Dole variety as well...), but I can no longer do so.”
Unfortunately, it looks like plenty of folks have drunk the McCain kool-aid since it was sweetened with Palin.
I can’t believe ANYONE would think this man has, for one second, one iota, changed.
Palin’s on the ticket now folks...McCain STILL up to no good.
“This is just more of the Democrats divide and conquer approach, trying to rile up conservatives against the McCain/Palin ticket,”
What the heck do the Democrats have to do with the Young Republicans being forced to remove their banner?
“It would have been portrayed as dissent and dissatisfaction”
Yes, well at least it would be being TALKED ABOUT!!!
“It represented difference from the message for that evening.”
I think, and I think you know it too, the sign represented difference from the message, period.
Oops! E. C... You need a different comparison... McCain IS one of Ted Kennedy's friends... :(
no, not a smart move (to sweep the immigration issue and those YR placards under the rug), because sealing the borders is both a GOP commitment in the 2008 platform so it does not contradict anything, and most importantly, Obama’s position on this is supported by maybe 20 percent of the American people, whereas the GOP Platform position is supported by maybe 80%, so it is a VERY clever issue to steal MILLIONS of votes from Obama. You dont want Obama to win now, do you??!!
One thing is for sure, had Tancredo, Hunter, Paul, Thompson, Romney been the nominee, or were Baldwin or Barr to be included in the debates, we would get a THOROUGH AIRING OUT of Immigration issues. As it is and as I see it, it will be the 800 pound elephant and donkeys in the room and will be ignored. So, we will have to find more creative ways to FLUSH THEM OUT on this issue.
As I said, people should go with PRO-BORDER ENFORCEMENT signs to these McCain and Palin rallies, along with their pro-GOP signs. There are enough Minutemen, and patriot Republicans out there FED UP on illegal immigration to do it. Have a second person there YouTube them. If little politically correct RNC nazis in dark suits with wearing earpieces come out and tell them they are "offensive" and "mean spirited" (even though I suggest the signs have absolutely nothing remotely racist but just in support of the fence or opposed to "Comprehensive Amnesty") and ask them to take the signs down, get it on videotape and stream it here. Then, some folks in D.C. are going to have some 'splainin to do to The Base.
Troll, TROLL?
You’ve got an acute case of intra-rectal cranial insertion going on there. You might want to see a specialist before it becomes terminal.
Mcloon MUST beaten about the head and shoulders with the criminal alien stick every day from now until 2012 and beyond if needs be. He’s not to be trusted or given a millimeter because he will betray us at the first chance to get the criminals aliens legalized.
If we slack off one iota, he’ll turn the river of illegals into an ocean and those new voters are not going to vote (R)epublican.
Then where is the republican party? Dead.
The only reason I’m even beginning to consider voting for the */Palin ticket is Governor Palin. Without her on board and showing she gets it on criminal invaders, I’m staying home and * can go pound sand.
Great video — thanks for posting.
I’m sending this link out to everyone I know, every contact, friend, family, neighbor, newsmedia, etc,
The video of those Young Republicans in St. Paul with their Border Security signs tells the WHOLE STORY doesnt it?
Tell each of them to send to FIVE of their friends as well. Already this thread has been viewed over 1,500 times, and now the national talk show hosts have it, or so I have been told. Get ready for Monday.
I already sent word to several of the truck drivers I know and those are people with lots of hours to drive and talk. When they aren’t driving they’re sitting and talking.
The pro censorship idiots are going to regret trying to silence us.
“What do Freepers think about this?”
Like a lot of other illegal alien related issues, there seems to be a movement to silence debate. Whether it’s amnesty, anchor babies, refusal to secure the borders and sabotaging any progress being made, failure to arrest employers, Federal government being the largest illegal employer, North American Union, and, more immediate, for instance, I have great concern over the direct link between illegal immigration and the subprime crisis and it’s affect on our national economy. Yet we are hearing next to nothing about the mortgages that were doled out like candy to illegals by banks who KNEW they are here illegally and accepted only an ITIN number. The Clinton/Bush push to make them homeowners just might do us in, yet the link is being ignored.
Great! I’m getting as many messages out as possible, as we speak.
What clever excuse do you suppose the GOP/McCain will come up with?
"Address the Undocumented. John McCain will address the fact that we have a large number undocumented individuals living in the United States and working in our economy:
All undocumented individuals will be required to enroll in a program to resolve their status. This program will use background checks to identify criminal aliens for prosecution and deportation.
Assure that the remaining undocumented immigrants learn English, pay back taxes and fines, and pass a citizenship course as part of a path to legal status.
Guarantee that no person here illegally receives a green card before those that have been legally waiting outside the country.
Do a proper accounting of all social security numbers used and attained illegally, rectifying the accounts and alerting those whose identity had been compromised.
The program will also ensure that all undocumented aliens either leave or follow the path to legal residence. America cannot permit a permanent category of individuals that do not have recognized status a permanent second class.
In addition, the program will provide a system that is fair, humane, realistic, and ensures the rights of the individual and families will be protected.
Ensure that families are reunited. Address in an expedited manner the status of individuals brought here illegally as minors through no will or intention of their own.
Eliminate the Family Backlog. John McCain will commit to clearing out the backlog of individuals that are waiting legally outside of the country, some for up to 20 years, for their green card number to become available."
This is an absolutely insane policy that will bring in tens of millions more into this country and act as encouragement for millions more to enter the country to take advantage of this upcoming amnesty or the next one. The GOP has intentionally hid and disguised McCain's policy on immigration and hurt Reps down ballot who must run against this policy.
You've been around here long enough to know that no one cares what you think when you include the word "troll" in any sentence, right?
