Here are the pictures from the McCain/Palin event here in MI. Thanks so much to FReeper TheRake for the tickets!!!!
Basically, the speeches were almost the same as at the convention, but the place was PACKED! Even more people than when we saw GWB in the same location. Most of the homemade signs were about Sarah.
We were stuck in a horrible traffic jam and while we were still about a mile away, we decided to park on a side street and walk. TheRake was already there and left our tickets with a lady at a booth (thanks so much, again!!!)
Dad and the older one never made it. Too much traffic. By the end of Sarah's speech, my eight year old was falling over (walk, stand, walk - she was tired) so we left as McCain started and listened as we walked out.
We found ourselves walking in with the Moonbats (yikes! it was only me and the eight year old so I was a bit paranoid) and there were some Ron Paul protesters there as well. I'd say about 30 protesters in all stayed by the front driveway. None in the venue that I saw though.
Sarah specifically thanked MI for taking care of her son when he played Hockey in Kalamazoo. She waved a Red Wings jersey and the crowd went nuclear! And two ladies had a homemade banner about 10 feet long that said "Palin Power" They were a big hit!!!
Is it over? We’re looking for it on cable.

Hey, come see where I went tonight.
Did you head over to chatzy?
Thanks for reporting. NC folks were interested! Too bad the logistics went badly for you.
“Hockey Mom” will be a real draw - IF she clear about not favoring a single team .....
Palin came on at 6:00 on the dot.
McCain followed and that was the end.
Same writer as in the earlier AP report:

thanks for the pics and the reporting.
I can’t wait for Palin to hit Vegas.
The traffic was INSANE!
There was a lady in a Hybrid with an Obama sticker next to us at one point. She was a typical pantsuit lib. You could see her visibly cringing!
On the other side were five darling young ladies with their tickets stuck up in the window of their car. They were on the opposite side of the street and I rolled down my window to tell them to get in front of me because the venue was on the right. The gleefully waved, got in front of us then waved a car full of young men in front of them. The lot were cheering and honking. Having a total blast!
Oh, wow, you saw her?! That’s so lucky for you!
here’s a wonderful statement of support for John McCain

Priceless
Got your bumper sticker yet?
That was beautiful.
God Bless him.
Here's my baby
and here is the little one next to us
That one was tiny, maybe four and a little trooper. She kept asking, "When do we see McCain?" So sweet!
great post
FYI
Alaskans to receive $3,269 each
It’s the season for Alaskans to be rewarded just for living here, and this year’s take is extra sweet: $3,269, a record share of the state’s oil wealth combined with a special cash payout to help with stratospheric energy prices.
Pass it around.
Very powerful.
A Milwaukee TV station reported 20,000 to 30,000 people at the Cedarberg, WI event this moring. AP reported 1,000.
Thanks for the pics, you are a great American! Not bad phone pics!
Great! We just watched McCain’s speech from last night. FReeper response was (aside from a few raucous grumps) guarded-positive to pleasantly-surprised, but the convention delegates were loving it, and I think it will play well with the general electorate.
