Snoozemachine. This won’t be so bad in transcript, but as delivered, it’s ghastly.

Yes, I know what the service lapel pin is and what it represents.
I had originally posted that what I thought I saw as her lapel pin was an Israeli flag - rectagular in shape; white background; blue star in middle; blue horizontal stripes above and below. A couple of people then responded that it was the service lapel pin. I replied that could have been (and probably was - my eyes get worse every year) but I posted the same photo you did and noted that it had a red border.
Just leave the stage goober...

This is what Mike Murray said:
Mike Murphy: You know, because I come out of the blue swing state governor world: Engler, Whitman, Tommy Thompson, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush. I mean, these guys -- this is how you win a Texas race, just run it up. And it's not gonna work. And --
I take that comment to mean that one of these people is who John McCain should have picked but he didn't so he is going to lose because of it. Do you agree? Peggy followed that comment with:
PN: It's over.
Now, how does her "it's over" comment at that point in the conversation convert to what she's now claiming she meant, which is:
I got on the subject of the leaders of the Republican party assuming, now, that whatever the base of the Republican party thinks is what America thinks. I made the case that this is no longer true, that party leaders seem to me stuck in the assumptions of 1988 and 1994, the assumptions that reigned when they were young and coming up.
How do you go from what Mike Murray said to "it's over" and have it mean what she's saying here? I don't get it.

Thanks for the link. I read it, and my thought was: “Keep digging, Peggy.” She never got over the fact Pres. Bush didn’t select her as his speechwriter, and has been acting like a woman scorned for the past 8 years, sniping and snivelling about the Bush Administration.
