"Maybe "Red" needs to spend some quality time at my local VA, talking with some of my veteran friends who've been where they've been, and gone through the horrors that many Vietnam veterans still can't talk about."

I've lived with and among vets all my life(family, live near Fort Campbell) so I have heard of the battles, the horror stories. Overhearding my father, uncles, cousins talk among themselves when the believe nobody else is listening. Learning not to make loud noises or make sudden, unexpected movements when sleeping over at friends houses or having them sleep over with us as their fathers readjust to life in the "real world". The night sweats, the drinking until they collapse but afraid to move them because they will"react"., The sudden mood swings, the agruements over peddling things. then the divorces because Daddy isn't well. Having friends join the army leave for overseas duty and then come back "changed"

It isn't that "I am tired" of the POW narrative but it isn't the only thing McCain is about.

Nobody but the far Left nutters dare question about the horrors he has gone through and survived with honor. Yes he should tell his incredile story during his imprisoment as no other can. However as important that period of time was in forming the character of the man who (hopefully)could be the next president. His life did not end there. The convention needed to tell the WHOLE story of McCain's life in politics and what he intends to doing the future.

Nobody doubted Sen Robert Dole's heroism but it wasn't enough to bring over the undecided Independants and blue collar democrats.

McCain tried to stuff everything he is about in one long speech. And it bogged down at times and took away from his narrative. Much of the fine details he stands for could and should have been handled by others and while letting McCain paint with broad strokes., a la Reagan.

However that is water under the bridge and I hope we both can agreed that the McCain/Palin ticket can go on the campaign trail and do well in the upcoming debates.

kind of makes the other "first couple" look a little bit superficial about "hope and change"

It really does.

Compare Cindy with Michelle. Cindy goes to third world countries and helps the poor souls while Michelle complains somebody, i.e. government not me, should help these obvious of Western colonialism.

I don't even remember if she even went to Africa with Obama.

I do know Obama didn't do anything but make speeches supporting his brother's murderous tribe.

Do you think some “Republican” secretly let them in?

I thought our candidate delivered a fine speech.

He is no JFK, Reagan or Palin. But he made me proud.

“Very solid, I don’t always agree with him, but he’s solid.
McCain solid, obama hollow”

Zer-O-Bama is not so much hollow, just Styrofoam like the columns in the Barackopolis.

Letterman just spent the last 15 minutes praising Sarah Palin.

All that means is that the bitter old unfunny leftist wants the hottest ticket in town on his show.

If I could invent a time machine and put Palin on the Late Night Show in, say, 1987, oh hell yes that would be good. But in 2008? Meh.

All the dummies have to say about her service (walking the talk) is that she “stole drugs” and was a “drug addict”.

I guess only libs can have addictions. (Cindy’s was prescription for pain). The libs always celebrate a celebutard addiction.

But they completely gloss over this. I wasn’t aware that Cindy got a master degree in Special Ed. The way msm speaks about her, it’s always “beer heiress”. I am so glad that they did that tribute about her work.

Any one think that if elected, the msm and dims will lobby for a Barack Obama Holiday? Paid, Federal of course. :)

Cindy brings the hospitals to the unfortunate. Michelle kicks them out of her hospital.

You have a point, and I can see where you're coming from. However, Steve Schmidt is a guy whose strategy is this: stick to one or two points at at time, hammer them until they go to people subconscious before move to next points.

It seems their strategy for the convention is to push this point: 'country first'. This main idea is personified in McCain and Palin. They divided the convention into four themes, originally for four nights: service, reform, prosperity, and peace. Because of Gustav, they seemed to combine reform and prosperity together. The last night was dedicated to peace. That's why John McCain gave such speech.

I'm sure they understand that people want to hear about specific issues such as gas prices, health care, etc. At the same time, the issue of security also in people's mind. They want to frame the debate on security as those who put country first (and have proven records) vs. those who prefer some vague concepts about human rights, international law, and so on, but not necessarily pro-America. They also want to highlight the differences between our candidates and the other guys. Our candidates have reached out to the other isles, theirs have not.

So, I suspect they will start to talk about those issues soon, but not too much during the convention so they didn't dilute the simple points they're making for the past four days: country first. Convention is very important, but it's only part of the whole strategy.

Jindal and Palin are going to be the new GOP standard bearers, McCain is merely a transitional figure.
McCain is more than a transitional figure. He is the savior of the GOP. McCain has laid out the path to victory for Republicans this election, if they are smart enough to follow it. He smacked them across the back of the head with it like a 2x4, so perhaps even the most entrenched Washington insider might have looked up from his cocktail glass and taken note. Reform. Reform. Reform. Stop wasting the taxpayers money. Get back to serving the people, not their own self interests. It is a message that is Ronald Reagan at his very core. All Republicans running this election ignore it to their own detriment.

If Republicans in congress want to win, they will run against Nancy Pelosi and the do-nothing congress of '07-'08. They will ask the question, "Are you better off now since the Democrats took over?" Then they will run an anti-pork reform campaign promising to partner with President McCain to clean up Washington. Lucky for Republicans they are not the incumbents. Now, will they be smart enough to figure that out for themselves, and run accordingly?

“John McCain also made a speech. It was flat.”

Last line of her article. The woman is rambling. In her heart she knows that she dissed Palin when the mic was still on the other day, and she’s trying tocover up.

Watching Fox & FRiends,,they touched on the protesters inside the convention.
They had press passes.

I wonder if Medea friend who bragged about forging them awhile back for one of those townhalls is at it again???

FRiends also said the secret service was checking the floor passes of people after the Pinko got dragged out.
