Federal officials warned Thursday that tainted infant formula from China may be on sale at ethnic groceries in this country, even though it is not legally approved for importation.
All varieties of Wegmans Food Markets Inc. in-store-made bagels and bialys, flattened bagels with various toppings, because the products might contain pieces of a mixer's metal spring, posing a serious choking hazard. The Rochester, N.Y., company has heard three consumer complaints, said spokeswoman Jo Natale. There have been no reports of injuries or incidents.
The recalled bagels and bialys were sold between Aug. 24 and Sept. 9 this year in Wegmans' stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland. For more information, consumers can call 800-934-6267, ext. 4760, or visit http://www.wegmans.com.

The CFIA said Metro-Richelieu Inc. of Montreal is warning the public not to consume the recalled ham because the product might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
