Serbian nationalists bash Joe Biden
Sophia Echo (Bulgaria) ^ | 29 August 2008 | Clive Leviev-Sawyer

Barack Obama, the Democratic Party’s candidate for US president, indulged in a campaign swing through Europe. His vice-presidential running partner, Joe Biden, if tempted to do the same, may as well avoid Belgrade.

Memories run deep in the Balkans, but among Serbian nationalists, uppermost on their minds is that long-term senator and foreign policy committee figure Biden was strongly in favour of the 1990s bombing of Belgrade.

Popular Serbian newspaper Blic reminded its readers on August 28 that Biden was one of those who proposed resolution on bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999.

“He also believes that all changes in Serbia are the result of pressure from Washington.”

The newspaper quoted Obrad Kesic, an analyst in the US of Serbian origin, as saying the choice of Biden was especially bad for Serbia.

“I am expecting Biden to be even more engaged in lobbying over Kosovo,” Kesic is quoted as saying. Biden was a “severe opponent” of Russia, which could affect Serbia indirectly in view of its traditionally close relations with Russia.

In contrast to media in Kosovo, where in Pristina daily newspaper Koha Ditore said ”a great friend of Kosovo will enter the White House along with Obama if he wins”, website Serbianna.com carried a report alleging that former US ambassador to Romania Jim Rosapepe had said that he witnessed Biden shout at Romanian officials from whom he was trying to get information on Serbia and its politics so that Biden could “inflict political and diplomatic damage”.

Rosapepe says that the most extraordinary meeting Biden and him had was with the president of the Romanian senate, Petre Roman, whom Biden met before but this time "Biden grilled him on Serbian politics" and Roman "helped defeat Milosevic in the 2000 elections".

However, when Biden asked the Romanian delegation why Romania was seeking Nato membership, Biden was offended at the answer.

According to Serbianna.com, the Romanian said: “If we are in Nato, we won’t have to worry about Nato attacking Romania over our relations with our Hungarian minority the way you attacked Yugoslavia. Since Turkey has been in Nato for decades, you let them do what they want with the Kurdish minority”.

The website said that “Biden got visibly angry that former communist Romania had an existential reason for joining Nato, so Biden ‘rose from his chair, leaned across the table and said: “If that’s why you want to get into Nato, I'll make sure you never do!'”.

The Serbianna.com item alleged: “Biden has long been on the payroll of Kosovo Albanian extremists so that he can lend support for their desire to annex Serbian province”.

Another Serbianna.com item quoted Croatian priest Iliya Zivkovic as telling Croatian daily Jutarnji List that he was a friend of Biden and that he was a key figure that shaped Biden’s view that Serbs were exclusively to blame for events in former Yugoslavia.

“He [Biden] knew about Croatia... But I think that the most influential was my speech that I gave in Little Rock in front of the just elected Bill Clinton who called American minorities for a conversation,” Zivkovic was quoted as saying.

“In 45 minutes I explained why bridges must be bombed in Serbia, Belgrade... I believe that that it was very effective on Biden,” Zivkovic said.

As Democrats in the US observed the Republican attack machine spewing out against its candidates Obama and Biden, Serbianna had a hat-trick with an item online on August 29 – in the process managing to hit out at both Obama and Republican presidential nominee John McCain.

“Whether Obama wins or McCain, Serbs should expect that US will seek to destroy them, culturally, ethnically, physically, politically and diplomatically, tells us an analyst who fears to disclose his name because he will be witch hunted.”

The article continues by quoting its source as saying that for the past eight years, “Serbs in Kosovo have been killed like deer in season and US has approved every one of those murders because they've recognised such a state”.

“More Serbs are to die and the US will delight in the death of Serbs no matter who wins the presidency,” Serbianna quotes the source, which it describes as “close to government” as saying.

“No matter if it's Obama or McCain, many more Serbs in Kosovo will die and all churches in Kosovo will be leveled but any of the two will say that Serbs are genociders,” the website said.

Serbs = Christians. Is that why we have an official policy against them? In a fight between Christians and Muslims, we're supposed to back the jihadists?

It's all very confusing....

Not if you know the agenda, basically, to appease the Muslim world even if it means destroying a Christian people.

It boggles the mind.

This idiocy was all part of Mad. Albright’s official foreign policy and her attack dog, Holbrook.

Albanian "kosovars" are a bunch of savages and narco-terrorists who nobody in his right mind could give a rat's *** over. There were a baker's half dozen real-politik type reasons for wanting to do Kosovo at the time and together they did not add up to a case and the pentagon advised SlicKKK against it. The overwhelming consideration however was getting Chinagate and Juanita Broaddrick off the front pages of American newspapers.

Serbs were innocent victims; they're the closest thing there is to normal, decent, middle-class people in the Balkans.

What Klinton did in Serbia was an absolute war crime. In addition, there was no American national interest involved. To top it off, we attacked the wrong side. All to make the EuroTrash happy.

We have an official policy against them because the Mainstream Medai went to bat for the Muslims and the biggest Media w-—e who ever sat in the White House started the iinvolvement. Unfortunately he was followed by the smallest intellect to ever sit in the White House and so we are in the idiotic position of fighting a Christian Power the Serbs - against another Islamic toehold in Europe - the Bosnian Muslims and Albanians.

Personally, I like Vlad Dracul. The U.S. western Europe and the Serbs need a leader like that. Too bad its the 21st Century and not the 15th.

Think about this. Bush's popularity is around 29% Putin's popularity is over 85%. Putin is doing what is best for his people. I wish we had leaders who would do the best for America.

As for the RUSSO-GEORGIAN conflict, it was started when Georgian troops brutally attacked Ossetia and killed 2000 civilians, mostly Russian civilians; killed 12 Russian peacekeepers and shot down four Russian aircraft, and the Russians are the bad guys?

After the breakup of the Soviet Union, South Ossetia declared independence because they wanted to join up with North Ossetia and be part of Russia. Why then did Shaashkavili decide 16 years later to attack? In my opinion, he thought that because he was supported by the West, Bush would rush to his aid - and Shaashkavili later stated, "Where is NATO! Where is America!"

His foolishness brought this whole mess around. One question to ask yourself:

In 1999, NATO, led by Clinton, in violation of International Law, NATO Charter and without the approval of the US Congress, bombed tiny Yugoslavia that did not have weapons of mass destruction, never attacked us nor any NATO country and was never a threat to us.

At the time, NATO consisted of 19 member states - of approximately 900 million members. NATO attacked a nation of only 10 million and we thumped our chest like an 800-lb gorilla.

Today, there are 27 NATO members and still growing. We told the Russians, if they pulled out of Eastern Europe, we would not move NATO up to Russia's borders. Well, the Russian their troops pulled out of Eastern Europe, and we broke our pledge by continuing to move NATO up to Russia's borders and Russia reacted. How would we like it if Russia put missiles back into Cuba? We would consider that a threat against us, wouldn't we?

And how many more countries that we continue to add are Americans willing to go to war with Russia?

And finally, after the fall of the Soviet Union, NATO's mission ceased to exist - so Clinton had to find another target but what better than Yugoslavia, a tiny country that refused to bow to Clinton's New World Order, and of course, our wag-the-dog president needed to take attention away from his affair with Monica.

Just something to think about.

The freakin’ Albanians invade the country like a swarm of locust,
and Clinton supplies the air support. Another reason to oppose the clintons.

And may I add, when Georgian troops attacked Ossetia, President Bush immediately recognized Georgia's sovereign territory, but when the Serbs sent in their troops to protect their sovereign territory in Kosovo, their Jerusalem, President Bush recognized Kosovo as an independent Albanian state whose corrupt government is headed by former KLA terrorist Hashim Thaci who has now been implicated in the harvesting body parts of young Serbian soldiers. Hashim Thaci was invited to the White House by President Bush and by Condoleezza Rice. Serb prisoners 'were stripped of their organs in Kosovo war'

To add insult to injury, President Bush intends to send more aid to the jihadist Kosovo government as though 80% of drugs that flow into Europe from Kosovo is not enough.

Beam me up, Scotty!

Especially when they were blowing up Roman Catholic Churches and massacring Croatians.

Are you speaking of the President that has kept us free of terrorist attacks for 7 years?

If Carter and Clinton were much smarter then Bush then why were they such greater failures?

I'm not saying that we have had the best policy in the Balkan States, but the man has had other priorities as well. This has not been a front burner item.

Apparently, you need to be educated. May I recommend you read A.M. Rosenthal's Back from the Grave.

Also, please read, The Clinton Doctrine by Charles Krauthammer.

Or perhaps you've never heard of Jasenovac where over a million Serbs, Jews and Gypsies were exterminated in Croatia's death camps so brutally that even the German Gestapo was appalled.

A million? Wow....amazing...considering that only 530,000 Serbs died from all the conflicts during WW2.

Do you have any more lies to peddle?

“Are you speaking of the President that has kept us free of terrorist attacks for 7 years?”

If you are referring to Bush II - YES. As to his skill in keeping us free from terrorist attacks - that is one of his achievements, if indeed that was the reason. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. For the life of me I don't know why the Islamists haven;t sneaked a nuclear bomb across the Mexican Border he had neglected to defend. Perhaps they have. To people like Al Quaida, ten years or ten centuries is nothing as long as they achieve their goal of world-wide Islamization.

“If Carter and Clinton were much smarter then Bush then why were they such greater failures?”

Both of them were prisoners of their own flawed political ideologies and in CLinton’s case, he was also a prisoner of his own vices.

“I'm not saying that we have had the best policy in the Balkan States, but the man has had other priorities as well. This has not been a front burner item.”

How about our Mexican border? How about the Wahhbaist bankrolling of Mosques, Imams, and Madrassehs in America and in the West.

If you are President of the U.S. EVERYTHING is on your front burner - or should be.

I despised Bush I - he was and is, a globalist and a limousine liberal. I was very suspicious of his son and didn;t vote for him in the 2000 primary. I gave him the benefit of the doubt twice in Presidential elections, mainly because of the alternatives. Unfortunately my original fears and doubts were correct.

Yep the U.S. is on the wrong side. We should be supporting the Serbian people. Instead we back the muslims against the Serbians.

Shame on our government on this particular point,

Do you have any more lies to peddle?

It's not a lie.

Look, you need to consider Yugoslavia in the aggregate over the course of WW2.

That is, were looking at 1.7 million dead (11% of the population). The average age of a person who died was 22.

There were also 3.5 million left homeless.

Are these numbers too much for you to handle?

There weren’t 1.7 million dead. There were 1.014 million dead across the whole of the ex-Yu. As Milovan Djilas admitted and as the man who came up with the number admitted (both Serbs), the numbers were inflated not only to get more reparations out of Germany, but for propaganda purposes as well.
