I love it when a stranger condemns another person based upon no personal knowledge of that whatsoever. It's SO open minded.
I love it when people tell the truth and spare no punches. I might also add that Palin's husband has a DUI conviction (yeah.. please tell me everyone drives while intoxicated/no big deal/17 years ago/blah-blah-blah)
What happened to the days when Americans would take one look at these 2 factors and disqualify the candidate as unfit to lead?
I think the rest of the world respected the U.S. a lot more when its people weren't afraid to judge someone or whack a person from the list based on their moral track record. This is the VP of the United States, here. Not president of the homeowner's association or YMCA coach.
McCain disappoints me big time with this situation. I think he's brilliant in the sense that the dem's cannot strike at this woman without a little self-castration in the process, but I'd rather have any number of honest folks without the blemishes on their resume.
It goes beyond just winning for me.
President Bush had a DUI conviction years ago as well. Think he has proven to be unfit to lead? You holier-than-thou types just crack me up.
I’m sorry but a DUI from her husband 22 years ago is not a big deal at all.
I don’t care about what people do in the past. It’s how they handle themselves at the present.
People make mistakes and learn from them all the time.
That was about the same time that Obama was doing coke, correct?
See, that's your "normal life." I can tell you that it sure as hell is not "normal life" for many, and you know what? It isn't that big of a deal! (except to screaming hysterical shrews) For God's sake, chill out. Take a pill. Use your head and look around you at kids who've grown up into pretty good people despite screw-ups and sometimes because of them.
*shaking head in exasperation*
To take a line from a great movie -- there is no "normal" life. There's just life. You LIVE it.
And for Christianity's sake, keep your nose out of other peoples' private family lives. You nattering old church lady!
I ran my truck into a tree once. No, it wasn’t a DUI incident, but what if someone ran and something like that came up? “Look, she can’t even control her vehicle after it jumps the curb. How could she handle being VP?” Not everyone is perfect. Look hard enough and something can be found out about anyone. I mean, my own husband had criminal damage charges on himself many years ago (soap in a fountain). If I ever ran for office... wow.
