ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

I think many Rinos, and libs in the media do not quite understand the Christian conservative voter.”
Absolutley correct. But I’d go even farther. Many don’t understand Christianity, it’s not about perfection but rather repentance, love and forgiveness. If we were perfect there would be no need for a Savior.
The Palins are living out their faith and most will recognize this.
KIDD I’m with you all the way. My sainted Christian mother who had three boys(Eenie, Meanie, Minie and didn’t want MO)always said the first child can come anytime all others take 9 months. She also cared and fostered about 25-30 others that I consider as brothers and sisters. A couple of these never knew a father other than my loving and hard working father and they turned out as great citizens..
I strongly disagree with you and, I am an evangelical Christian.
I am not a McCain fan but, before casting stones, since you are called Reagan Man, it might be worth remembering that Nancy and Ronald’s first child was born less than nine months after their marriage.
King David, a "man after God's own heart," fathered a child out of wedlock (with a married woman nonetheless). Apparently Todd has chose not to kill the father, which puts the Palins a moral notch above King David in this regard (how well Sarah might deal with any future Philistine incursions may be another matter altogether).
Almost no person with a teenage female in their family around this age hasn't worried about this happening. To me it only humanizes her more.
I don't think this issue is the world beater the dems think it is.
Don't knock me, the messenger. We know how the Left works. It will work to confuse and mislead and confuse the voters and demoralize the GOP supporters despite all explanations and protestations...which it will ignore.
This is not good given the stupidity and/or the exagerrated/hypocritical morality of countless voters.....and the ravening media.
Say what you will, that is the first thought I had too. Yes it happens, but children do reflect on their parents, like it or not... Alan Keyes daughter reflected on Mr. Keyes, The Bush daughters reflected on President Bush. Cheney's daughter still reflects on him too.
It is part of life that your children are in part a product of their parents, to deny that is to deny the role of parents. In this case, more than one set of parents are involved of course, but only the high profile will catch the media's eye. The boy's parents will go unnoticed unless it is profitable for the media to bring their identities to light. You can bet your bottom dollar there is much checking into it right this second too.
In other character issues, the fact Sarah Palin has released a statement about how they will continue to love and support their daughter is a character issue also. Sarah handled that with class and demeanor. Most people understand free will that teenagers have, most people understand the Biblical verse that you raise a child right and he will not stray far and hopefully come back after straying. But also most people judge by fruits, and this is a bruise on the fruit whether we choose to ignore it or not.
Prayers for their family... sin hurts though.
Why couldn't she do something smart like drive 900 miles an hour drunk in her Prius like the Gore kid?
You have the best post on the the thread. Is is the business of the Palin family - and not ours.
I just heard that blowhard Ed Schultz mention that the parenting skills of Sarah Palin should be called into question, along with her family values. If the Left wants to make this an issue, they will, but I believe at their peril.
Exactly! It’s not what parents hope for, but it’s just life. Really this is nothing to roll around on the floor or pull our hair out over. I respect the way they’re handling it. And I think she’s a GREAT mom!
Never said it would effect my vote in the end.
But people have to be honest.
McCain showed poor judgment.
And Palin’s decision to go forward accepting the VP slot, is puzzling.
I'm always amazed at how quick some Republicans are to run away from a potential fight as though they're a scared little child. One shot from the left - not even on target - and people here are ready to wave the white flag.
It's utterly ridiculous.
I don't see a problem. However...
Questions need to be asked. How old was she when she got pregnant? Was she 17 or 16? How old is the father? Would it be considered statuatory rape under Alaska law?
I'm just askin.
>>>Because of how they were treated, they went looking desperately for a solution....and they came up with abortion.<<
Well said.
Abortion was made legal by the Supreme Court in the 1973 case of Roe v Wade-— A case based on FRAUD.
Norma McCorvey was the plaintiff in that case (the ‘Jane Roe’), and her lawyers exercised undue influence to get her to cooperate.
She now speaks out on behalf of the unborn.
Abortion rights are based on a fraud.
Pray for the unborn.
He knew about the pregnancy.
And whose business is it anyway?
Yeah, Palin’s been in the limelight for three days and already the press has discovered that her daughter’s pregnant and that she once met for a few minutes with the “controversial” Pat Buchanan. Yet, they never bothered to investigate Obama’s ties to Jeremiah Wright & William Ayers until talk radio broke the stories, and even then they though neither was a big deal. In fact, they’re covering up the Ayers story even as we speak.
It’s a problem. Just not a really serious problem. It means that her family values are in question, since her own daughter doesn’t seem to have any sense.
“Not sure if you are aware, but there are a lot of idiots in this country. It will be a big issue.”
Disagree. Which will go over better with the heartland?
Choice #1:
If my daughters make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby!
Choice #2:
We support and love our daughter tremendously, have advised her of the challenges she faces and will continue to support her and welcome the new blessing our family will receive.
?
Guess we’ll find out who the crow eater is on Nov 5th
Go Palin and McWhatisname
