This young girl and her family are intentionally deciding to give birth to a real live human being.
Sarah herself has borne a Down Syndrome child, a child that DemoncRat Vicious says should be killed.
I’m glad to know that.
And that’s my answer to the liberals who will jump on Palin.

I think the smart and graceful thing is to decline to accept the nomination. Allow a new (better vetted?) candidate to step up. After all, Sarah Palin has a lot on her plate: A son going to Iraq. A pregnant and unwed daughter. A newborn infant. She might be smart to not accept the nomination. QUickly.I'm rolling my eyes here.

I cannot believe that there are FReepers thinking the worst of the Palin family because their teenage daughter becomes pregnant! Life happens, people!
My neighbor’s 14 year old granddaughter attended (and still attends) church her entire life, even got a certificate for having never missed a day of Sunday School in her life. She got pregnant. She never identified the father and kept the baby. The family is helping raise the child while the teen finishes school.

She should have used a condom . . . three months later. So sayeth San Fran Nan.
To: Campion
You are assuming the pregnancy wasn’t planned.
That’s quite a leap.

“I thought it was simply a lousy vetting process. Instead, its a major blunder by McCain.”
I disagree. If handled correctly from here on out it will actually have the capacity to be a big plus. It humanizes the Palin family. It also exemplifies McCain's strength of conviction. If it is true that he knew (I hope it is) then it should be pointed out publicly that he chose her despite this because he believes in her and that as an imperfect human being himself he doesn't pass judgment on a young girl just starting her life who is making a brave decision to face her responsibilities and the consequences of her actions.

“Oh my. This is going to get quite interesting. Id like to think that Palin can ride it out, but somehow I dont think so. The Obama media is going to go hard.”
yes, she will, because if they attack the daughter, then Obama and Biden’s kids are fair game...

Sarah should have made sure Bristol was on the pill and knew about the importance of using condoms. Why do you keep pushing the culture of death agenda? This is the second post of yours where you encourage giving abortificients to minors. Just asking...

That is hard to believe otherwise why not announce it up frontHow far "up front"?
Before he introduced Palin? Before Palin introduced herself? Before they left the arena?

ANYONE who thinks that McCain choosing Palin with this hanging over the campaign was a good move, needs to have their head examined. ASAP.

I'm so tired of the sanctimonious crap that appears here. The young women made a mistake. However she is not compounding it by committing a much more serious act. As to that certain segment of the republican base that will not vote for Palin because her teenage daughter got pregnant I can only say they live in an alternative universe.

"I agree. I think Palin should step down."
I would agree if the Pope where available but unfortunately only fallible humans are available to replace her.

Alexander Hamilton! "Hamilton was consumed by his passion for a nation built around a strong and fiscally stable central government. He was born out of wedlock in the West Indies, and moved to the colonies at the age of 17. His father, a Scottish trader, went bankrupt when Hamilton was 15, and the boy went to work in a counting house to help support the family."

My bestfriend throughout childhood was the daughter of a preacher. She got pregnant at 17. They were married before the baby was born. Her family supported her completely!
