jesse ventura writes a book

here's summary

Former Minnesota governor, professional wrestler, and Navy SEAL Jesse Ventura visits with his latest book, Don't Start the Revolution Without Me! Ventura pulls no punches in discussing our corrupt two-party system, the disastrous war in Iraq, and what he suspects really happened on September 11. He provides personal insights into the Clinton and Bush presidencies, and elaborates on the ways in which third parties are rendered impotent by the country's two dominant parties. He reveals the illegal role of the CIA in states like Minnesota, sensitive and up-to-date information on the Blackwater security firm, the story of the American spies who shadowed him on a trade mission to Cuba, and what Fidel Castro told him about who really assassinated President John F. Kennedy.

He shouts down and demeans anyone who disagrees with him. It’s obvious he thinks very highly of himself and believes only his views and opinions count. Yes, he is a conspiracy theorist and/or a moonbat nutjob.

He was elected gov by some fluke and wants to run for president in the future. He needs to get over himself cuz it aint gonna happen.

"they are all jazzed over Sarah Palin."

That's good news. Everybody I know, all ages, Democrat, Republican and Ind, are excited about her too - for all different reasons.

I really didn't think I was going to be able to vote for McCain, but she has brought me, my husband, and a lot of others on board.

I tried to draw real sentiment out of them. I expressed outrage over Palin getting the RNC spotlight and Hillary getting dumped. I claimed to the college kids that Hillary deserved to be on the ticket and guess what? They all hated Hillary and they are very liberal college earth muffin types. That said, they don’t like McCain, Biden(at all), and they like Obama a little bit because he was change. According to them, Biden cancelled that out.

I saw him recently on H&C. He tried his best to intimidate Sean and came off as a total buffoon.

When his segment was over, he was off camera and you could hear him challenge Sean to an arm wrestling match. Sean laughed and obliged him and was quickly taken down. I thought to myself — Okay, jerk, let’s find a guy with arms three times the size of yours and see how that goes.

Yeah, I’ve got some thoughts on Jesse . . .

Jesse is an idiot. First, he’s not a SEAL. He WAS trained as a UDT diver, but he was never a SEAL. Second, he has much insight into politics as any common fencepost. His governorship was fraught with stupid and self-interest actions. During his term, he garnered a book deal, a doll deal, a movie deal, a TV deal, and a slew of other self-enriching deals. His support of 2A extended only to granting himself a concealed carry permit - nobody else, though. In reducing license fees, he fought for himself - his Porsch and jet-ski licenses were to expensive so he pushed for that reduction.

In tow areas only did he do good . . .

1. He returned over-collection taxes to the rightful owners - the people. Of course, poor people got a taste, too, even though they pay nothing.
2. He hated the media and told them so at every opportunity.

In all other respects, Jesse was worthless.

Very interesting to hear their reactions from you. IF the little "earth muffins" are going to vote, let's hope it's for Palin.

I live in an area packed with Reagan Democrats (SW PA) where Hillary had strong support. A lot of them already preferred McCain to Obama once Hillary was eliminated, but there were lots of fence sitters who have now come on board for McCain only because of Palin.

Pretty difficult for him to do that since he was in the next car. You have to try harder than that.

Also, regarding his point about both Democrats and Republicans castrating third party aspirations, HE IS SPOT ON.

He may be a basket case on other issues, but he is right on that.

I heard him on our local talk show years ago and he was talking about how if a Dem (or a Rep) puts forth an idea that's a good one, the other side will kill it - even though it may have been THEIR idea in the past - because the other side would get the credit and look good.

He is right on that issue too. Both parties have been in full control at various times in the past and did not fix the problems they whine about. They want those problems to exist in perpetuity so they can be the Sir Galahads to come in and fix them.

Have finally cleared my mind of the picture, but I know it will come rushing back every time I hear that radio commercial Roseanne does giving away rooms in Vegas. (Shiver!!!)

One term. He didn’t have the guts to run a second time. BTW, he deliberately allows others to bill him as a SEAL. Granted, he served honorably and has UDT training, but you won’t find him on SEAL honor rolls. One other thing . . .

When he ran for Gov, he entered late after it was apparent that nobody was excited over Norm Coleman or Skip Humphrey. As the campaign wore on, his popularity grew with people who basically knew nothing about politics. I’ll even concede that Norm Coleman is as exciting as warm spit, but he still stands for principles that will never see the light of day in a Red Star editorial. So, when Jesse won (by a slim margin) even he was suprised. Later on, he translated his marginal victory into a populist revolt - pure BS. He won because he was the only slot available to register a protest vote. Fortunately, he bowed out before the next election which would have been a referendum on his self-absorbed idiocy. In that case, he would’ve had his @ss kicked worse than anything in the WWF.

Practice in intimidation tactics? Yep, no doubt. Maybe he should stage a comeback to WWF. I’ve never watched, but I’d love to see some huge young’un take him on!! Don’t know who might do it, but I’d pay to watch. :)
