and here ] are all over the theory that Sarah Palin's four-month-old baby may actually be her grandchild - the son of her 16-year-old daughter, who missed most of the last school year with what the family said was mononucleosis.

My first thought is that this sort of scrutiny has to be really hard on the 16-year-old girl in question. And my second thought was that IF this turns out to be true, I'll find it a really scary example - perhaps the most scary example of anything I've seen in a long time - of a politician who would do anything to get elected.

And if this IS true, Sarah Palin has opened her daughter up to a rough ride by exposing her family to the national press. The mainstream media only recently found itself badly burned when tabloids and bloggers completely scooped them on a salacious rumor (John Edwards' affair) that turned out to be 100% true. You can bet the press won't let this happen again, and I guarantee you that there are reporters in Alaska right this minute, poring over school, birth, and travel records, as well as looking at every photo of this family that they can get their hands on.

In addition to Moore, we have Kos, Drudge and Andrew Sullivan running with this story. McCain can't sit on this forever. It will be the ruination of his campaign and the convention.

So, since one of the major legs of this story has been knocked out, you find another to prop it up. This whole story shows a lack of critial thinking. if the baby was Bristol's and the the Governor was able to concoct this elaborate conspiracy, that means she would be able to fake the babys time of birth, thus would not have to invent the whole flying home, breaking of water story. The principle of Occam’s razor would be instructive here.

That's because Palin is strongly pro-life, and Krauthammer is pro-abort.

Not if it is not true. I suspect they are letting the critics stew in it for a while and once they have flushed them out, out will come the record. She has been busy the past several days. Sullivan, KOS Moore....I wouldn’t hang my hat on anything they said. I also would not use Krauthammers name in the same paragraph with the above jerks. Krauthammer is good, but he is only right 91.2% of the time. Not this time.

Nobody is questioning that Hillary isn’t Chelsea’s mother, we’re questioning that Bill Clinton is Chelsea’s father. Chelsea looks nothing like Bill Clinton and everything like Webb Hubble.

And you are not getting my two points:

1. Chelsea does NOT look anything like Web Hubble. Nothing about the shapes of their features is even remotely similar. Chelsea is almost the spitting image of what her maternal grandmother looked like in her youth. It's quite common for features to skip a generation, and for children to look more like their grandparents than their parents. George W. Bush looks a lot like his paternal grandmother, for example.

2. Conservatives claim to be better people than Leftists/Dems. Prove it. Stop this gutter insinuation that Chelsea is not Bill Clinton's daughter. She IS his daughter. Whatever else Clinton is, he has always been a loving, devoted father to his daughter. The gutter insinuations about Hubble and Chelsea were started in conservative circles when Chelsea was still a child and they continue to this day. Yet conservatives hypocritically whine about the Left's gutter insinuations regarding Gov. Palin and her children.

Great post! I don’t “know” what the facts are but I see no reason to give the slightest credence to this scurrilous rumor. Assuming it is not true, as I believe without first-hand knowledge of the people involved, I hope that more and more lefty “rat-weasels are allowed to crawl out on the limb together before it is sawed off.

It would be beautiful to see more prominent ‘Rat-weasels get caught up in this before they are discredited and disgrace forever.

Of course, we know well that Demagogues are without shame and frequently manage to make comebacks from scandals that would sink any Republican. But I will be expecting some real political carnage on the left when this rumor is decisively debunked.

Look, I spent a lifetime as an investigator. I know how to check facts. I was considered to be quite good at my job. Please do not question my motives here.

I am trying to get to the facts so we don’t have to deal with this any longer. If you think I am trying to keep this alive because I am some kind of secret Obama plant, you are very badly mistaken. I can’t stand him and wish I had never heard of him. I think he would be a disaster but unless this story is knocked down he gets the presidency by default. You surely can’t want that. And I most assuredly do not. Sarah Palin was my personal pick and was tickled pink when I learned her a full nine hours right here before the national media found out. The last thing I want is for this nomination to go down the drain and with it to usher in a “President Obama” who I consider just short of being an out and out Marxist.

While delayed in the New Orleans Airport, I reflect back to my airport surprise when leaving Fairbanks after the PolarTREC Orientation in March. I look around and wonder if I will see the Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal milling about and waiting to catch a flight. Doubtful since most Governors travel via private aircraft at least around their own state. Governor Jindal cruises Louisiana in a three million dollar state police helicopter. This is not the case for Alaska’s Governor Sarah Palin.

There were several of us PolarTRECers waiting in the Fairbanks, AK airport to catch our planes home. We were chatting about all we had learned when Kristen Timm, ARCUS administrator said “ Look, there is the Hottest Governor in the United States” as she has been publicly deemed by media and fans.

Of course I had to check out the “Hottest Governor in the US” and quickly turned to see her pregnant (she has since had her baby) with bags and daughter in tote. Then it struck me as odd. Why is the Governor of Alaska in the airport and preparing to get onto my commercial flight?

I questioned PolarTRECer Craig Kasemodel an Alaskan resident. He let me know that Governor Palin sold the corporate jet after securing her official Governor position.

How can we settle this now at 1:00 am? You are presenting evidence put up by Moore, KOS, and Sullivan. I would not wipe my rectum with their musings for fear it would damage sensitive areas. They are not people who command my respect nor do I believe anything they have ever said...why would I believe them now.

Do I believe Sarah Palin when she presents this country with her baby named Trig. Yes, why would I not believe her. She has not lied to me yet.

So as much as you would like to settle it now, I am quiet comfortably settled with the truth which Sarah Palin presented. Anything her political enemies would say begin with a prejudicial taint, and I have known them all three to be liars. I doubt they have stopped lying with this liable.

Let’s also remember to publicize that Harry Reid holds weekly teleconferences with Kos and other lefty blog-scum, that Michael Moore has been embraced by so many of the leading Demagagues (Jimmy Carter at 2004 DNC, etc). These are not random anonymous bloggers making these scurrilous allegations, they are the “cream” (so to speak) of the lefty blog-world.

When this rumor is decisively put down I want to see all of those scum reviled in public for a long time to come. Won’t happen, most likely, but we need to try, and especially to wrap Reid’s web-pals around his scrawny neck.

That the Palin pick is a game changer and the dems are so worried. They wouldn’t be coming after her if they weren’t worried.

2nd thing this tells me, is that they have nothing of substance against her. So they just dream up baseless crap.

I don’t question your good motives or your evident expertise in investigative practices. I’m simply not worried about it (from a political standpoint) unless/until I see any reason to believe it’s true. IF, as I expect, it can be decisively refuted, then the more leftists that jump on the bandwagon, the better. I’m in no rush to see them enlightened ‘cause I’d like to see them all crash and burn in total humiliation.

I do worry about the Palins having to learn about such scurrilous “rumors” especially the girls, but I assume they’ve already heard or will soon learn about it and there’s no helping that. IF I were in their circle I’d advise them to allow the left to make total fools of themselves awhile longer (IF it’s not bothering the Palin daughters much, and if they will all be able to laugh at the fools who jumped onboard).

If my hunch is wrong and there IS anything to this then of course all bets are off. But nothing I have seen makes me find this rumor credible. I know that’s not the same as debunking it decisively, just saying I am not worrying about it yet. But I do APPRECIATE your expertise and contributions to this discussion!

I will say this. If I were the dad of that girl I would have a few things to say. I can handle being dissed, but say something bad about my wife or kids and I am hard to restrain. I am too quick to flash that way, and I am not a small guy. I would guess Mr.Palin feels the same way. That whole family will be attacked before it is over. KOS,..the place where Mrs. Edwards sought solice. And FR was quick to give it to her. And these bastards go for a sixteen year old and a three month old Downs baby for political gain. Hell will not be hot enough for their miscreatant deeds.

One thing both the Clintons and Obamas share with the Palins (and the McCains to some extent, although their daughter is in her 20s and invovled with the campaign, but still, no woman of any age should have to put up with this crap) is trying to protect young daughters from the worst aspects of public life. I imagine that this could be a rather huge s### storm against the lefty bloggers who are doing this, once the Palins see fit to knock this thing down hard. There would have to be a lot of “bi-partisan” outrage at the bloggers who are pushing this thing. Of course, the danger with that is that the Obamas will try to turn it into “bi-partisan immunity” from any and all REAL candidate problems, and that we cannot permit. :^)
