Really can’t believe it! It’s truly amazing! I wouldn’t have thought the feminists would support McCain-Palin. Guess I was wrong!

you know...I keep getting this feeling. I don't know if I'm just over excited now... I was so pumped when I found out about the pick. I was at a cottage and finally picked up a signal for the laptop the morning of the announcement-sounds silly but i was almost shaking was anticipation-my personal Chrissy Matthews moment!

I'm a Giant fan and mid way last season I would have laughed in your face if you said the Giants would not only be in the Superbowl, not only win it, but beat the Patriots, and have Eli play that well...I am starting to get that holy crap! feeling I got when the Giants started to put together their run...I know this is an election not a spots event...just saying..!

I need to get dressed for church, but I'm having trouble tearing myself away from the computer.

Lib land is going berserk.

The only thing better than McCain picking Palin is the liberal reaction to his choice.

From DU to the lamestream broadcast media to Andrew Sullivan - they are all going nuts.

Wonderful, simply wonderful!

Not exactly, but I sense a Palin landslide, and the unprecedented case of the VP being the star, and McCain riding her skirt-tails.

If he’s smart, he’ll play it up for all its worth, like JFK going to Paris, and introducing himself as “the man who accompanied Jackie to Paris.”

McCain needs to step back, bask in he glow, and take credit only for rescuing the Republican party for years to come, and for being the father of the post-boomer Republican party. A generation of Palins, Jindals, Cantors, etc.

The choice of Palin was the spark that lit the torch, and it will be McCain’s to pass to the next generation.

I have one too: my best friend's dad is a lifelong Democrat who loved Hilary. But he's getting pretty psyched up with the Palin thing too. He resents Obama for beating Hilary and then not choosing her as a running mate, and says he's going to vote for McCain.

I hate that we're dependent on wishy-washy, discernment-free voters like this, but we are, so I'm glad if they're coming over to our side of the line.

They told us about their neighbor, who happens to be a fairly liberal (although she voted for Reagan), college Prof, in her late 40's...oh and is also a lesbian. She came by and they were chatting and she starts going on and on about how great it is that Mccain picked Palin...really excited! AND that she will vote for him!

I have known my wife for 20 years now. She is registered to vote, but hasn't since I've known her. She listened to a few minutes of the Gov speak at the rally friday, and declared her intention to vote. She asked me to remind her to get a new card and update the address, to make sure they would let her vote. It's amazing!

I have a friend whose mother is an FDR Democrat. She also indicated her intention to vote for McCain/Palin. She said that she had NEVER voted for any Republican, but this choice gave her a reason to break ranks.

Well... I don’t know about this. I mean I think Palin was a great choice, but should I really be excited that McCain appeals to liberal lesbians? Maybe your neighbor likes his positions on global warming and immigration. I’ll be happier about a surge in support from conservatives and moderates than one from liberals. I don’t want McCain to feel any more beholden to them than he already does!

I was watching a football game with some friends last night. There was a couple there I had only met once before. I asked them what they thought about Palin, and they stated they didn't know much about her. That's all the opening I needed. I gave a brief overview of her resume. The wife stated, “You know I wasn't sure who I was going to vote for, but you've convinced me. I like this lady.”

You’re right, we all owe McCain—and Cindy too, who was his key adviser after her last interview!—for, gulp, restoring the Reagan coalition!

I understand your concern, but he has to win first. People of principle do not bend to pressure for political expediency.
