Scroll down for updates…vid of the announcement at HA

The announcement from Dayton will start any minute. There’s a new rock star in town. Conservatives are full of Hope that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will bring much-needed Change to McCain Republicanism.

Catch the fever.

I’m starting a new thread and kicking off discussion with this YouTube ad from Palin supporters.

Yes, I’m impressed. Very impressed.

Flashback: You go, girl: Alaska GOP Gov. will sue Bush administration over polar bear listing

The official statement from McCain:

U.S. Senator John McCain today announced that he has selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate and to serve as his vice president.

Governor Palin is a tough executive who has demonstrated during her time in office that she is ready to be president. She has brought Republicans and Democrats together within her Administration and has a record of delivering on the change and reform that we need in Washington.

Governor Palin has challenged the influence of the big oil companies while fighting for the development of new energy resources. She leads a state that matters to every one of us – Alaska has significant energy resources and she has been a leader in the fight to make America energy independent.

In Alaska, Governor Palin challenged a corrupt system and passed a landmark ethics reform bill. She has actually used her veto and cut budgetary spending. She put a stop to the “bridge to nowhere” that would have cost taxpayers $400 million dollars.

As the head of Alaska’s National Guard and as the mother of a soldier herself, Governor Palin understands what it takes to lead our nation and she understands the importance of supporting our troops.

Governor Palin has the record of reform and bipartisanship that others can only speak of. Her experience in shaking up the status quo is exactly what is needed in Washington today.

The ACU raves:

CONSERVATIVES HAIL MCCAIN VICE PRESIDENTIAL PICK

(Minneapolis, MN) - David Keene, Chairman of the American Conservative Union, has issued the following statement on Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain’s pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

“The selection of Governor Palin is great news for conservatives, for the party and for the country. Her dedication to principle, her courage both before and after her election as Governor of Alaska and her personal qualities make her a perfect choice for Vice President. I predict any conservatives who have been lukewarm thus far in their support of the McCain candidacy will work their hearts out between now and November for the McCain - Palin ticket.”

Jennifer Rubin at PJM:

…Palin will argue that in fact Obama has no more experience than she does, and that Palin has the advantage of sharing McCain’s views (and thus being right) on the surge, Russian ambitions, and meetings with state terror sponsors. The VP debate against Biden may be dicey, but the McCain camp knows full well that a vice-presidential debate isn’t going to make or break their candidate. In short, McCain is hoping that Palin is good enough on this score for a number two pick against a Democratic ticket headed by a man with virtually the same meager national security credentials.

As to the second, Palin has much to offer McCain. On a non-political level few can doubt her Q-factor. (She will be the first former beauty queen to run on a national ticket.) The daughter of a teacher and mother of five, she has an ebullient personality and an excellent TV presence. The Right will be entranced : a pro-life hunter with a passion for domestic energy development? And in the battle for “change” she has the record of reform and the identity of a complete Washington outsider. Finally, as a lifelong NRA member, an outdoorswoman, and a western governor she may provide extra help in mountain and western states such as Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico which are certain to be in play.

On the policy front, Palin can make the case that the Democratic program of higher taxes, more spending, and a government takeover of health care is a proven loser. She will argue that she can bring practical experience from as far outside the Beltway as one can get. And, of course, the presence of a woman on the ticket creates instantaneous excitement and puts into play Clinton voters looking for a new champion.

The pick also tells us something about McCain: he thinks he can win. He was not willing to rock the boat with his conservative base. He can use Palin on offense to make a run at women voters and on defense to blunt the populist attacks from the Democrats. And it shows he understands the need to generate enthusiasm and “newness” in his own campaign.

Ed Morrissey: Change conservatives can believe in!

LifeNews has an excellent overview of Palin’s staunch, pro-life activism.

Sarah Heath Palin (born February 11, 1964) is the current Governor of Alaska, and a member of the Republican Party. She is the youngest and first female governor of Alaska. Brought to statewide attention because of her whistleblowing on ethical violations by state Republican Party leaders,[1] she won election in 2006 by first defeating the incumbent governor in the Republican primary, then a former Democratic Alaskan governor in the general election. On August 29, the Associated Press reported that "speculation [has] moved to [Palin as a] darkhorse" pick for the vice president running mate slot by presumptive Republican nominee John McCain.[2] The CNBC news service is now reporting that Palin will in fact be the GOP vice-presidential nominee.[3]

She is reported to be a possible choice for the Republican Party's nomination as Vice President of the United States in the 2008 election. Formal announcement of the presumptive nominee will be made in Dayton, Ohio on August 29, 2008, by Presidential candidate John McCain. Palin was born as Sarah Louise Heath in Sandpoint, Idaho, the daughter of Charles and Sally (Sheeran) Heath.[4] Her family moved to Alaska when she was an infant.[5] Charles Heath was a popular science teacher and coached track.[5] The Heaths were avid outdoors enthusiasts; Sarah and her father would sometimes wake at 3 a.m. to hunt moose before school, and the family would regularly run 5k and 10k races.[5]

Palin was the point guard and captain for the Wasilla High School Warriors, in Wasilla, Alaska, when they won the Alaska small-school basketball championship in 1982; she earned the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" because of her intense play.[5] She played the championship game despite a stress fracture in her ankle, hitting a critical free throw in the last seconds.[5] Palin, who was also the head of the school Fellowship of Christian Athletes, would lead the team in prayer before games.[5]

In 1984, Palin was second-place in the Miss Alaska beauty pageant after winning the Miss Wasilla contest earlier that year, winning a scholarship to help pay her way through college.[5] In the Wasilla pageant, she played the flute and also won Miss Congeniality.

Details of Palin's personal life have contributed to her political image. She hunts, eats moose burgers, ice fishes, rides snowmobiles, and owns a float plane.[6][7] Palin holds a lifetime membership with the National Rifle Association. She admits that she used marijuana when it was legal in Alaska, but says that she did not like it.[8]

Palin holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Idaho where she also minored in politics. She briefly worked as a sports reporter for local Anchorage television stations while also working as a commercial fisherman with her husband, Todd, her high school sweetheart.[5] One summer when she was working on Todd's fishing boat, the boat collided with a tender while she was holding onto the railing; Palin broke several fingers.[5] Outside the fishing season, Todd works for BP at an oil field on the North Slope[9] and is a champion snowmobiler, winning the 2000-mile "Iron Dog" race four times.[5] The two eloped shortly after Palin graduated college; when they learned they needed witnesses for the civil ceremony, they recruited two residents from the old-age home down the street.[5] Todd is a Native Yup'ik Eskimo.[5] The Palin family lives in Wasilla, about 40 miles (64 km) north of Anchorage.[10]

On September 11, 2007, the Palins' son Track joined the Army. Eighteen years old at the time, he is the eldest of Palin's five children.[10] Track now serves in an infantry brigade and will be deployed to Iraq in September. She also has three daughters: Bristol, 17, Willow, 13, and Piper, 7.[11] On April 18, 2008, Palin gave birth to her second son, Trig Paxson Van Palin, who has Down syndrome.[12] She returned to the office three days after giving birth.[13] Palin refused to let the results of prenatal genetic testing change her decision to have the baby. "I'm looking at him right now, and I see perfection," Palin said. "Yeah, he has an extra chromosome. I keep thinking, in our world, what is normal and what is perfect?"[13]

Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council from 1992 to 1996. In 1996, she challenged the incumbent mayor, criticizing wasteful spending and high taxes.[5] The ex-mayor and sheriff tried to organize a recall campaign, but failed.[5] Palin kept her campaign promises, reducing her own salary, as well as reducing property taxes 60%.[5] She ran for reelection against the former mayor in 1999, winning by an even larger margin.[5][14] Palin was also elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors.[11]

In 2002, Palin made an unsuccessful bid for Lieutenant Governor, coming in second to Loren Leman in a four-way race. After Frank Murkowski resigned from his long-held U.S. Senate seat in mid-term to become governor, Palin interviewed to be his possible successor. Instead, Murkowski appointed his daughter, then-Alaska State Representative Lisa Murkowski.[5]

Governor Murkowski appointed Palin Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission[15], where she served from 2003 to 2004 until resigning in protest over what she called the "lack of ethics" of fellow Alaskan Republican leaders, who ignored her whistleblowing complaints of legal violations and conflicts of interest.[5] After she resigned, she exposed the state Republican party's chairman, Randy Ruedrich, one of her fellow Oil & Gas commissioners, who was accused of doing work for the party on public time, and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail.[16] Palin filed formal complaints against both Ruedrich and former Alaska Attorney General Gregg Renkes, who both resigned; Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine.[5]

In 2006, Palin, running on a clean-government campaign, executed an upset victory over then-Gov. Murkowski in the Republican gubernatorial primary.[5] Despite the lack of support from party leaders and being outspent by her Democratic opponent, she went on to win the general election in November 2006, defeating former Governor Tony Knowles.[5] Palin said in 2006 that education, public safety, and transportation would be three cornerstones of her administration.[8]

When elected, Palin became the first woman to be Alaska's governor, and the youngest governor in Alaskan history at 42 years old upon taking office. Palin was also the first Alaskan governor born after Alaska achieved U.S. statehood. She was also the first Alaskan governor not to be inaugurated in Juneau, instead choosing to hold her inauguration ceremony in Fairbanks. She took office on December 4, 2006.

Highlights of Governor Palin's tenure include a successful push for an ethics bill, and also shelving pork-barrel projects supported by fellow Republicans. Palin successfully killed the Bridge to Nowhere project that had become a nationwide symbol of wasteful earmark spending.[13][17] "Alaska needs to be self-sufficient, she says, instead of relying heavily on 'federal dollars,' as the state does today."[6]

She has challenged the state's Republican leaders, helping to launch a campaign by Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell to unseat U.S. Congressman Don Young[18] and publicly challenging Senator Ted Stevens to come clean about the federal investigation into his financial dealings.[13] Palin supports holding occasional legislative sessions outside the state capital, and municipal revenue sharing to help local governments.[citation needed]

Palin's tenure is noted for her independence from big oil companies, while still promoting resource development.[6][13] Palin has announced plans to create a new sub-cabinet group of advisors, to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions within Alaska. [19]

Shortly after taking office, Palin rescinded an appointment by Murkowski of his former chief of staff Jim Clark to the Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority, one of thirty-five appointments made by Murkowski in the last hour of his administration that she reversed. [20][21] Clark later pled guilty to conspiring with a defunct oil-field-services company to channel money into Frank Murkowski's re-election campaign. [22]

In March 2007, Palin presented the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) as the new legal vehicle for building a natural gas pipeline from the state's North Slope.[23] Only one legislator, Representative Ralph Samuels, voted against the measure,[24] and in June Palin signed it into law.[25][26] On January 5, 2008, Palin announced that a Canadian company, Transcanada, was the sole AGIA-compliant applicant.[27][28]

In response to high oil and gas prices, and in response to the resulting state government budget surplus, Palin proposed giving Alaskans $100-a-month energy debit cards. She also proposed providing grants to electrical utilities so that they would reduce customers' rates.[29] She subsequently dropped the debit card proposal, and in its place she proposed to send Alaskans $1,200 directly and eliminate the gas tax.[30][31]

SOCIAL ISSUES Palin is strongly pro-life and belongs to Feminists for Life.[8] She opposes same-sex marriage(we will have to work on this one, but she has stated that she has gay friends and is receptive to gay and lesbian concerns about discrimination.[8] While the previous administration did not implement same-sex benefits, Palin complied with a state Supreme Court order and signed them into law. [32]

She supported a democratic advisory vote from the public on whether there should be a constitutional amendment on the matter.[33] Alaska was one of the first U.S. states to pass a constitutional ban on gay marriage, in 1998, along with Hawaii.[34]

Palin's first veto was used to block legislation that would have barred the state from granting benefits to gay state employees and their partners. In effect, her veto granted State of Alaska benefits to same-sex couples. The veto occurred after Palin consulted with Alaska's attorney general on the constitutionality of the legislation.[35]

THEY'RE SAYING THAT MCCAIN HAS PICKED SARAH PALIN. The Insta-Wife is ecstatic, which may bode well for that demographic. I'd like it if she had more executive experience, but to be fair, she's got more than anyone else on either ticket. Is she too liberal on gay rights? Not for me, but maybe for some people.

UPDATE: Sissy Willis has more, including video of an interview of Palin by Larry Kudlow.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Judging from SayUncle, Palin will play well among the crucial bitter gun-clinger demographic. [They prefer to be called 'blasty-Americans' now -- ed. Oh, good grief.]

Plus, the WaPo's Ben Pershing on Sarah Palin's Porkbusting.

The pick is getting good marks from Geraldine Ferraro.

And, Palin as the anti-Ted Stevens."In an election where the Republican’s biggest liability isn’t Iraq but Ted Stevens and the Alaskan Bridge To Nowhere, McCain took his maverick mantle by the reins and just signed up the Anti Stevens to help him root out the corruption endemic in DC."

This rather churlish response from the Obama campaign won't help them -- dissing small towns doesn't fit well after Biden's "nobody is better than anybody" talk. [LATER: McCain response: "I'd think the Obama people would have learned by now not to belittle the experience of women."]

By contrast, I just saw Palin praise Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro as pathbreakers. And that "18 million cracks in the glass ceiling" line was delightfully sly.

MORE: Reader Kyle Griffin emails: "Did the Obama campaign just accuse the Republican campaign of having a VP with insufficient experience? Was that really smart? Will we see an ad about that tomorrow from the McCain youTube team?" Yeah, it did seem like an unforced error.

An "I told you so" from Katie Granju. [LATER: Granju emails: "I'm telling you. She's got the goods. Of course, I disagree with her on, well, mostly everything, but she's super impressive." Yeah, I'd never seen her speak before, and I was wrong to discount her, though I thought she'd said she didn't want the job.]

Sarah Palin and Experience

From the Comments:

Brilliant choice. It will be hard to criticize her on experience as she probably does more before breakfast than Obama does all day.

American Thinker:

That's an easy one to dismiss. Sarah Palin has had more executive experience, meaning experience in running either a business or a government, than either Barack Obama or his running mate, Joe Biden. She has more executive experience than even her running mate, John McCain. Governor Palin served as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska from 1999 to 2002. She was elected as President of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. She was elected as Governor of Alaska in 2006. And she has quite a few concrete achievements, considering the amount of time she's been in office.

Double Think:

The McCain campaign is hoping and praying that someone will say that Palin is unready for the job. “Please,” John McCain is praying right now AS I TYPE, “Let a Democrat say that an executive with 2 years of experience and no foreign policy expertise isn’t ready for the presidency. Oh pretty please. Because you know what I’m going to do? I’m going to take that soundbite, put it in an ad, slap Obama’s mug up there, and run it over and over and over again.”

The sniping and carping from the Jackal Pack Press begins:

CNN’s John Roberts: Palin Might Neglect Her Disabled Infant?

Here’s what Palin said about the arrangements she has ALREADY made for Baby Trigg as Governor of Alaska...

Anchorage Daily News
http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/382560.html

“The governor said she won’t take a maternity leave but will bring Trig with her to work. Her spokesperson later clarified, at Palin’s request, that the governor will take time off for medical appointments, physical therapy and whatever Trig needs.”

Sarah’s bringing a Baby to the White House!

"The last two callers to Michael Medved show, both claiming to be lifelong Republicans, were “appalled” that McCain would pick a mother with a disabled baby. They said she should be home caring for her child and not running for VP. Clearly the seminar callers have received their marching orders and the Dems are well along on one of the most despicable attacks on a candidate in history."

Profile of Alaska's Sarah Palin: Governor, Reformer, Mother

Palin pick already yielding rhetorical dividends?

See, this is why journos in the bag for Obama should await the royal talking points before opening their dullard yaps. CNN’s John Roberts: Palin Too Young and Inexperienced:

During the 9 a.m. EDT hour of “CNN Newsroom,” “American Morning” co-anchor John Roberts gave an analysis of Governor Sarah Palin during discussion of Senator John McCain’s vice presidential choice. Roberts focused on Palin’s lack of experience, saying that a prerequisite for the vice presidency should be the ability to step right into the office, especially because of McCain’s age. Roberts stated [...] “she’s the youngest governor ever in Alaska’s history, and she’s the first woman. She’s only been in office for a couple of years now, which really raises the experience issue here.”

Leave aside for the moment the dissonance of pretending to worry about Palin’s “inexperience” should she be forced (by the death of a fossilized McCain) into the Presidency when you haven’t offered the same argument for a man with even less executive experience getting the job outright; that probably has to do with her being “the first woman” governor or something equally patriarchal.

But in making this argument — that a 72-year old candidate is almost certain to kick while in office — what you have further done is begun alienating aging boomers who will soon be McCain’s age, questioning their worth and viability, throwing into doubt their general competence.

– Which means Roberts has managed to 1) highlight the inexperience of the Dem candidate for president by going after the inexperience of the Republican candidate for vice president; 2) has managed to make an implied argument that the inexperience of a woman is somehow more dangerous than the inexperience of a man, or a man of (half) color; and 3) has managed to make an ageist argument that could, at some level, get aging Dem Boomers to believe that their party thinks of them as prop voters, necessary for victory, but after that, to be set afloat on an ice chunk and allowed to drift off serenely into the great political beyond.

Add to that the calculus that many Hillary supporters will be thinking, “that should have been Hillary!” and what we have here is a perfect storm of identity politics for the Dems to try to steer their shiny yacht through safely.

Of course, the wildcard here is that female Democrats who detest Obama’s shiny empty banality will be forced to bite the bullet for him just to prevent the GOP from getting elected the first female VP. But I’m not sure that’s enough to counteract moderates who may now swing heavily in favor of McCain.

At any rate, the lines of attack should prove instructive — and, for the Dem’s sake, let’s hope they’re a bit better thought out than those offered by CNN’s John Roberts. Who really should wait for the next “Obama Action Alert” before he decides to speak again publicly.

For the narrative consistency and all.

Chill, Baby, Chill

The Democrats allowed the moratorium on offshore drilling to expire recently, but expect them to reinstate it next year, especially if Obama wins the presidency. Instead of "drill, baby, drill" an Obama victory would mean that those entrepreneurs who envision hundreds of thousands of new jobs created by a domestic boom in oil and gas production would have to "chill, baby, chill."

Why the Left Wants To Change America

The left, from The New York Times to MoveOn.org, has led itself and others to believe that:

* George W. Bush lied America into war.
* Tens of thousands of Iraqis and more than 4,000 Americans have been killed in a war waged in order to line the pockets of Vice President Dick Cheney's friends.
* The Constitution has been trampled on.
* America has become a torturing country.
* America's poor have become far more numerous and far more downtrodden.
* American troops in Iraq repeatedly have engaged in atrocities against innocent civilians.
* The opportunity for economic self-improvement has ceased for most Americans.
* Racism is endemic to American society.
* Republican rallies are hate-fests.
* John McCain has run a racist campaign against Barack Obama.
* Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska, is a religious zealot and an idiot.
* Christian fundamentalists are on the verge of taking over America and turning it into a theocracy.
* The world is getting closer and closer to catastrophic and irreversible damage caused by human beings; and George W. Bush and energy interests are standing in the way of preventing universal destruction.
* America is on the road to fascism.

Now, as it happens, none of those things is true. But the left believes them all. That is why radical "change" becomes mandatory -- or America will collapse (and the world, too, which is why Barack Obama often mentions changing the world, as well as America).

Nine out of ten members of the laughingly misnamed "watchdog press," as well as 9 out of 10 members of its mirror image- the "entertainment industry" lean so far Left they fall over...

Let's see Buckley or Kathleen Parker or Ken Adelman draw a crowd like that. Seriously, the McCain campaign shouldn’t be bitching about the lady that’s doing the majority of the work to get them elected.  They should shut the f up and realize that she resonates w/ real people, and not the so-called elites they’ve surrounded themselves with.

Absolutely right.

Remember, my wife was the former Democrat ( Southern, Conservative, mind you, not MoonBat. Think Orson Scott Card. ) who stood up, in the middle of McCain’s first introduction of Sarah, the week before the acceptance speech, and loudly declared

“I want to vote for that woman!”

And none of the dirt they’ve tried to throw has done anything besides making Miss Emily dig her heels in.

If anything salvages McCain’s otherwise lame campaign, it will be Joe the Plumber…
...and Sarah.

Let me expand on that, a little:

Sarah is the future. If McCain had picked anyone else, I would have been tempted to not even vote, and let America "get what she wants so bad." Good & Hard. People get the kind of government they want, and deserve.

McCain's the past ( so is Barry- communism is so passe' ) but he sees the future- and that's her.

Smearing Joe the Plumber

October 28, 2008 Posted by John at 10:50 PM

Barack Obama reminds me a bit of John Gotti. Obama is no murderer, of course, but here is the analogy: John Gotti (before his incarceration) was a well-dressed, genial, smooth-talking guy. Not a visible threat in sight. But if you crossed him, his thugs were very quickly at your door.

Likewise with Barack Obama. He is always at pains to seem high-minded, but his tactics are anything but. If you cross him, his goons, too, are sure to retaliate, albeit in less deadly fashion than Gotti's.

The case of Joe "the Plumber" Wurzelbacher is an object lesson in how Obama and his supporters try to destroy anyone who even inadvertently gets in their way. Once Wurzelbacher was thrust into the limelight after Obama approached him in his driveway, Democrats swung into action to try to discredit the plumber by ransacking records on file with the State of Ohio. These efforts--the ones that have come to light so far--are recounted in the Columbus Dispatch:

Authorities in Toledo and Cleveland confirmed today that workers accessed Wurzelbacher's driving record and vehicle information through state computer systems in checks uncovered by The Dispatch. ...

The Toledo Police Department announced that a records clerk improperly pulled Wurzelbacher's information on behalf of a reporter for a Toledo television station the day after the Oct. 15 presidential debate. ...

Altogether, the Dispatch identifies four separate violations of Wurzelbacher's privacy by Democrats in Ohio's state bureaucracy who improperly accessed his records, hoping to find information helpful to the Obama campaign. This is the worst one:

Inspector General Thomas P. Charles also is investigating why the director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services approved a check on Wurzelbacher through the state's child-support computer system.

Director Helen Jones-Kelley said that after a "team meeting," she OK'd the check because the department often runs inquiries to check for unpaid child support on people thrust into "the public spotlight."

Is that disgusting, or what? They actually held a "team meeting" to decide to spy on Wurzelbacher on Obama's behalf. As it happens, Wurzelbacher doesn't pay child support, but they apparently thought there was no harm in checking. The Director of the Department of Job and Family Services denies that she was trying to help Obama:

Jones-Kelley said there were no political motivations behind the check. The Democratic appointee has contributed the maximum $2,300 to the Obama campaign this year, according to Federal Election Commission records.

Democrats often purport to be concerned about privacy rights, but those claims are about as credible as their claim to be tax-cutters.

Yes, it's thuggishness of the sort I hoped never to see in America.

I've heard rumors of this bloody tape for a while, so I'll remain skeptical until it actually airs- if true, it could be a game changer.

Here’s the third punch: Obama accepted a bribe as a state senator

NOTE: The article below is from last year. It’s a story that was never picked up by the media (since when have they ever picked up anything about Obama?) and the Clinton campaign did not know what to do with this — people we’ve spoken to said that, in retrospect, they realize what a mistake this was because what Obama did here is actually a prosecutable crime. We were told, specifically, that the bribe Obama took as a state senator is the thing David Axelrod has lived in terror of this whole campaign — he has been praying this does not get out.

America goes truly post-racial

Ann Althouse asks an interesting question: Why isn’t Obama that far ahead?

I have no idea what any of it means, or how next week will turn out - how can anyone project anything in the face of voter “registration” fraud, whackadoo polling and an in-the-tank media?

But all of this uncertainty - all of these “narrowing” polls are proving one beautiful thing, definitively: that America actually is more post-racial than most realize.

Think about it. Obama can’t break 50%. Neither could Kerry, Gore or Clinton.

So, Obama is being treated precisely like every other Democrat politician of the last 16 years. His race is not holding him down. His race is not propping him up.

This should be cause for celebration, I think. We’ve clearly moved past race.

Why is Obama not “so far ahead?” Perhaps because he’s really not. I’m sure tomorrow we’ll see blaring headlines that more people “watched Obama’s half-hour ad than have watched all Super Bowls, all Oscar telecasts, all Jerry Lewis telethons and all moon-landings combined” - the press is committed to the hyper-narrative. But beyond all that, beyond the spin, Obama is just a Democrat having trouble breaking 50%.

Really, that’s nothing new. And we should feel good about that.

Mark Steyn notes that the White House incumbent is wildly unpopular. True. But the Dem-controlled congress is hated even more.

Instalanche! Thanks Glenn! while visitors are here, please look around; I have an interesting email from “the product of Pittsburgh Steelworkers” and a fun and fascinating fictitious parallel to the meeting of Barack Obama and Joe the Plumber. Plus, Halloween thoughts and pics. Enjoy!

What/Who IS Barack Hussein Obama?

The Non-Partisan Case Against Barack Obama

You don't have to be a conservative or a Republican to be opposed to Barack Obama. Here are some of the reasons that almost anyone should oppose him:

1. PERSONALITY CULT As a host of Youtube videos, comments on blogs, chants at rallies, and even tattoos show, Obama clearly has a growing personality cult. About the only policy positions some of those supporters could name would be "hope" and "change". Most of his supporters find little fault with him and are willing to believe in him whole-heartedly. In the U.S., we should be supporting ideas, not blindly following Great Leaders. Such movements are extremely dangerous in all cases, including when the Great Leader eventually is shown to be a mere mortal. Who knows how his supporters will react should he finally be shown to be an empty suit.

2. SMART, BUT UNTESTED Obama is indeed smart. However, a good part of his reputation is due to his speaking skills and the fact that he's only very rarely been challenged. He's frequently said things that, were someone around to engage him in dialogue, would reveal that he hasn't thought things through in much depth. However, the media has completely given him a pass. During the last debate he was momentarily flustered after he was called on his past associations and on about the only occasion when he was pressed by the media he did not respond too well. He clearly has a narcissistic personality, and that personality type is prone to breaking down when challenged in the right fashion. America's enemies will attempt to take advantage of that.

3. HIS INDOCTRINATION PLAN FOR PRE-TEENS No, really. Right on their website, the Obama campaign is specifically reaching out to pre-teens, and he wants to use those kids 12 and under to get votes. That plan is like something from Red China or the Soviet Union.

4. PART OF THE CHICAGO MACHINE While Obama wasn't originally part of the Machine, he is now. Electing him will bring Machine politics to our national government. It won't be as bad as, for instance, electing Mayor Daley (either one) to be president, but there's no way that someone who's part of the Machine and who has advisors and supporters linked to the Machine will not give them something.

5. DIRTY CAMPAIGNING Obama himself has largely kept his hands clean, while his surrogates have done the dirty work. Nothing McCain or Palin have said or done comes remotely close to the dirty campaigning that Obama's surrogates and supporters - including those in the media - have done. An Obama win would validate all of the tactics that Obama's supporters have engaged in.

6. SUPPORTING QUESTIONABLE PEOPLE WITH QUESTIONABLE LINKS The person Obama supported to be Illinois Treasurer had little experience and a questionable background. Such links go beyond Obama's links with radicals.

7. VALIDATION OF INCREDIBLE MEDIA BIAS In this election, the mainstream media has become little more than an arm of the Obama campaign. The smallest infraction by McCain is blown out of proportion and Sarah Palin is taken to task for failing to state things in the most exact and legalistic terms. At the same time, Obama is allowed to make false statements and propose plans that have hugely obvious flaws. The press has served as both the source for and amplifier of outrageous smears, especially those targeted at Palin. They've also failed to ask Obama tough questions at the same time as engaging in ambush journalism against Palin. They've even taken quotes out of context. An Obama win would completely validate and reward the media's coverage. An Obama defeat would also be a crushing, humiliating defeat to the mainstream media.

8. RACE CARD Obama himself has played the race card; as he said, he's not like all the presidents on the dollar bills. But, his surrogates and supporters have taken it to a new level, with one of them even claiming that "socialist" was a code-word for "black". The supposed "post-racial candidate" is in many ways simply a slicker version of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

9. NEARLY ONE-PARTY CONTROL If Obama wins, the Congress will be Democratic, the mainstream media will continue lying and covering up for Obama as they have been doing, and Obama's past associates will still be around. And, millions of people at various levels within various public agencies will be more or less controlled by Obama through their unions: teachers, office workers, low-level bureaucrats, etc. While extreme Democratic Party hacks will certainly have no problem with something approaching one party rule, everyone else should be deeply concerned. Those who are extremely partisan should also note that any failures will clearly be the responsibility of the Democrats.

10. THE PERMANENT GOVERNMENT Just as George Bush has done, Obama will stock the permanent government - the faceless mid-level bureaucrats, Assistant Undersecretaries, etc. - with his cronies. Some of those will come from the Chicago Machine.

11. SOME SUPPORTERS HAVE FASCISTIC TENDENCIES It used to be that liberals would oppose corrupt foreign governments "losing" a reporter's paperwork in order to shut them up. Now, see the response from some of those in Obama's netroots base to such a case. While some at those sites no doubt oppose such things, very few of them spoke out against it. Some of the people highlighted at the previous link would have been right at home in East Germany.

12. ASSOCIATIONS WITH RADICALS In 'Dreams from My Father', Obama said, "To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully... The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists.". That's continued until very recently, with a long line of associations with radicals, extremists, and those on the far-left. Most politicians would not associate with largely unrepentant terrorists, racists, and the like. And, in fact, Obama has thrown several of his past friends and affiliates under the bus, but only after his association with them became an issue. Just as one might expect that a politician who spends their days going to Chamber of Commerce events has some sympathy with the positions of the Chamber of Commerce, Obama clearly has sympathies with the positions of the radicals with whom he's been associated. In fact, it's difficult to find many past Obama associates who are completely mainstream.

13. CRITICISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED The case of Joe the Plumber should be shocking to anyone who supports the U.S. Constitution. Someone dared to ask Obama a question and was later mentioned several times during a debate. Obama's supporters and surrogates responded by leaking private information on him and by trying to drive him out of work. The Obama campaign was probably involved in that, and at the least they did absolutely nothing to stop it. Those are the types of activities more commonly found in authoritarian societies. If Obama is president expect similar situations and perhaps even worse.

14. THE FIRST AMENDMENT Barack Obama is a clear threat to the First Amendment. Some Democratic leaders support the Fairness Doctrine and the like; for instance, the Center for American Progress supports more government control over radio station ownership. And, Obama himself has said that "hate" has no place on the airwaves. However, the "hate" part was a reference to Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh, both of whom he's also smeared. Whether Obama personally pushes it or not, the Democrats will attempt to pass some sort of bill having an impact on what you can hear on the radio and perhaps on the TV as well. Petitioning the government is also a key part of the First Amendment; as described above, Joe the Plumber was almost driven out of work after asking Obama a question.

15. THE GREAT UNKNOWN There's been controversy over Obama's eligibility to be president, with some thinking he could be a citizen of Kenya or Indonesia. There's a very good chance that he is indeed a U.S. citizen, but he has not proved it despite what you might have heard from "fact checkers". He could have easily prevented all the speculation by releasing his original birth certificate and other information to, for instance, an impartial judge. Yet, he did not. And, he even refuses to release something as simple as his college applications. Even the New York Times has noted that Obama isn't telling the truth about his years at Columbia University ("Obama's Account of New York Years Often Differs From What Others Say", link). His failure to release even the most basic background information isn't just a stunt designed to tie up his opponents; it's clear that there's something that he does not want to reveal. His opponents will only fight harder to discover potentially embarrassing information if he's elected. If something damning is found it will have a dramatic impact not just on his administration but also on the Democratic Party and all of those public figures who supported him.

16. CENTER FOR AMERICAN PROGRESS The head of Obama's transition team and some of his advisors come from one of the lowest-wattage think tanks around, the Center for American Progress. They also support illegal immigration; per them, a "progressive" precept is opposition to xenophobia, and in their case that's manifested by supporting illegal activity. One of their senior fellows is part of the Mexican government's extended network. They also run the blog ThinkProgress, a juvenile site that specializes in gaffes, mockery, enforcing political correctness, and the like. That blog also refers to mainstream rightwing talk radio as "hate radio".

17. IMMIGRATION Both Obama and McCain support illegal and massive immigration, both would allow it to continue, both are panderers, and both would push amnesty ("comprehensive immigration reform"). McCain might try to push it earlier in his administration than Obama would, since his goals are less sweeping and he'd have less to do. However, Obama has shown himself even worse than McCain, such as by uttering 'reconquista'-style comments, thanking an open borders extremist for his work, and the like. The American public blocked amnesty once, and it can be blocked again.

18. BUSH'S SPP.GOV Obama supports a Bush trade scheme called the Security and Prosperity Partnership (spp.gov). That highly secretive plan - conducted completely without Congressional oversight - has been called "NAFTA on steroids", and some think it's a precursor to a North American Union. One doesn't have to be a "conspiracy theorist" to think that a highly secretive Bush trade scheme could be much more than we're being told. Obama continued the secrecy surrounding the plan by speaking in code when he came out in support of it.

19. HABIT OF LYING McCain and Palin have both made false and misleading statements. However, Obama has taken it to a new level by uttering obviously false statements that he's rarely been called on. See, for instance, the list here. His campaign has also silently modified his website as his lies were revealed and silently omitted part of a quote to make someone look bad. See also this ad which even Joe Klein eventually called him on. In one case he even admitted to having been deceptive.

To summarize: please do not vote for Barack Obama.

Things have been unraveling for Obama since early voting began — just like in the primaries, Obama’s alleged advantage amongst his “youth army”, blacks, and yuppies is not turning up in the early vote “tidal wave” he was supposed to have. Obama spent TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars trying to drive early votes to him, but it’s not happening.

The Coming Storm (Vanity)--Many people on this board think we have plenty of time to deal with Obama but I think the Tsuanmi is already approaching critical mass and the wave that breaks may have dire consequences for us all.

I agree with your assessment. Many on FR are foolishly braying that there's no way the GOP (even in it's current sorry state) can lose to an empty suit like Osamabama. Many GOP'ers made the same mistake with no-name Slick Willie in 1991 and laughed at his chances all the way up to the November election.

Suzanne Fields: Bile, Rage and Sarah Palin [Good read!]

Palin calls for Missouri support to “put government back on your side”

For Sarah Palin, Ship Happens

Northern Star Rising- (WashPo Admits What we Know About Sarah)

Palin Touts 'Tito the Builder'

What you were never intended to know

I’m going to let you in on a few secrets here, and this is not because I enjoy the gossip or the attention directed my way. I’m doing this because I doubt much of you know the true weaknesses of Obama. Another reason for my doing this is that I am lost faith in this campaign, and feel that this choice has been forced on many people in this country. Put simply, you are being manipulated. That was and is our job – to manipulate you (the electorate) and the media (we already had them months ago). Our goal is to create chaos with the other side, not hope. I’ve come to the realization (as the campaign already has) that if this comes to the issues, Barack Obama doesn’t have a chance. His only chance is to foster disorganization, chaos, despair, and a sense of inevitability among the Republicans. It has worked up until now. Joe the Plumber has put the focus on the issues again, and this scares us more than anything. Being in a position to know these things, I will rate what the Obama campaign already knows are their weak links from the most important on down.

1 – Hillary voters. Internal polling suggests that at best, we are taking 70-75% of these voters. Other estimates are as low as 60% in some areas – particularly Ohio and western PA. My biggest problem with this campaign’s strategy was the decision NOT to offer Hillary the VP slot. She was ready and able to take this on, and would have campaigned enthusiastically for it. This selection would have also brought virtually all of her supporters into the fold, and the Obama campaign knew it. Though I have no way of knowing this for certain, and I do admit that I am relying on internal gossip, Senator Obama actually went against the advice of his top advisors. They wanted him to choose her, but the only significant opposition to this within the campaign came from Barack and Michelle Obama. In short, he let personal feelings take precedence over what was the most logical thing to do. Biden, by the way, has been a disaster inside the campaign. Everyone cringes whenever he gives an interview, and he creates so many headaches as the campaign has to stay on their toes in order to disseminate information and spin whatever it was he was trying to say.

2 – Sarah Palin. Don’t believe what the media is telling you about how horrible a choice she was. Again, our internal polling suggest that though she has had a minimal impact on pulling disaffected Hillary Democrats to McCain, she has done wonders in mobilizing the base for McCain. Another thing – we were completely taken by surprise with her pick. In my capacity in the research department, I looked into the backgrounds of Leiberman, Romney, Pawlenty and Ridge, and prepared briefs. I don’t mind bragging that we had pretty good stuff on all of them. With Leiberman, the plan was to paint him as an erratic old-timer who didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing (pretty much a clone of McCain). In Romney, we had him pegged as an evil capitalist who cut jobs. Pawlenty was going to get the “Quayle treatment”, or more precisely: a pretty face, with no valid experience. Tom Ridge was going to be used to provide a direct link from McCain to Bush. As you can see, we were quite enamored of all of them. Then the unexpected happened – Sarah Palin. We had no clue as to how to handle her, and bungled it from the start. Though through our misinformation networks, we have successfully taken some of the shine off. But let there be no doubt. She remains a major obstacle. She has singlehanded solidified “soft” Republican support, mobilized the McCain ground game, and has even had some appeal to independents and Hillary voters. This is what our internal polling confirms.

3 – Obama’s radical connections. Standards operating procedure has been to cry “racism” whenever one of these has been brought up. We even have a detailed strategy ready to go should McCain ever bring Rev. Wright up. Though by themselves they are of minimal worth, taken together, Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Father Pfelger, and now, Rashid Khalili, are exactly what the campaign does not need. The more focus on them, the more this election becomes a referendum on Obama. The campaign strategy from the very beginning was to make this election a referendum on Bush. Strategists have been banging their head on how successfully McCain has distanced himself from Bush. This has worked, and right now the tide is in his favor. People are taking a new look at Barack Obama, and our experience when this happens tells us this is not good news at all. When they take a look at him, one or more of these names are bound to be brought up. McCain has wisely not harped on this in recent weeks and let voters decide for themselves. This was a trap we set for him, and he never fully took the bait. Senator Obama openly dared him to bring up Ayers. This was not due to machismo on the part of Obama, but actually due to campaign strategy. Though McCain’s reference to Ayers fell flat in the last debate, people in the Obama campaign were actually disappointed that he didn’t follow through on it more and getting into it. Our focus groups found this out: When McCain brings these connections up, voters are turned off to him. They’d rather take this into consideration themselves, and when this happens, our numbers begin to tank.

4 – The Bradley Effect. Don’t believe these polls for a second. I just went over our numbers and found that we have next to no chance in the following states: Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, Florida, New Hampshire and Nevada. Ohio leans heavily to McCain, but is too close to call it for him. Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico and Iowa are the true “toss up states”. The only two of these the campaign feels “confident” in are Iowa and New Mexico. The reason for such polling discrepancy is the Bradley Effect, and this is a subject of much discussion in the campaign. In general, we tend to take a -10 point percentage in allowing for this, and are not comfortable until the polls give us a spread well over this mark. This is why we are still campaigning in Virginia and Pennsylvania! This is why Ohio is such a desperate hope for us! What truly bothers this campaign is the fact that some pollsters get up to an 80% “refuse to respond” result. You can’t possibly include these into the polls. The truth is, people are afraid to let people know who they are voting for. The vast majority of these respondents are McCain supporters. Obama is the “hip” choice, and we all know it.

As part of my research duties, I scour right wing blogs and websites to get somewhat of a “feel” as to what is being talked about on the other side. Much of it is nonsense, but there are some exceptions which give the campaign jitters. A spirited campaign has been made to infiltrate many pro-Hillary sites and discredit them. A more disorganized, but genuine effort has also been made to sow doubts among the unapologetically right wing sites such as redstate.com. Don’t you guys get it? This has been the Obama campaign’s sole strategy from the very beginning! The only way he wins is over a dispirited, disorganized, and demobilized opposition. This is how it has been for all of his campaigns. What surprises me is that everyone has fallen for it. You may point to the polls as proof of the inevitability of all of this. If so, you have fallen for the oldest trick in the book. How did we skew these polls, you might ask? It all starts with the media “buzz” which has been generated over the campaign. Many stories are generated on the powerful Obama ground game, and how many new voters were registered. None of this happens by coincidence. It is all part of the poll-skewing process. This makes pollsters change their mixes to reflect these new voters and tilt the mix more towards Democratic voters. What is not mentioned or reported on is not the “under-reported cell phone users or young voters” we hear so much about. What is underreported is you.

I changed my somewhat positive opinion of this campaign during the unfair and sexist campaign against Sarah Palin. I will never agree with her on the issues and will probably never vote for her, but I am embarrassed of what has happened. I can’t ignore our own hand in all of this. What I do know is that I will not be voting for Obama this time around. Treat that as you will.

Shocking Videos & Facts You MUST See Before You Vote On The President!(email to Obamabots/undecided)

I am not a Democrat nor a Republican, I was recently one of those” undecided voters”, but after exhaustive research, I’m relieved that I’m no longer undecided. What I have discovered shook me up. How come I didn’t hear these things from the media?

If you are reasonable, open minded, please take 8 minutes to read this, will save you much time sifting through conflicting info.

In the beginning, I felt Obama sounded good and I had reservation about McCain.

I wanted hard facts, not just feel good, because some people can be big talkers.

I am sick of last 8 years, I honesty want change, but need assurance it’s change for better! Can you promise not to jump to defend or argue?

Surprise #1. Obama’s utter lack of experience for the job Four years ago, he admitted he was not ready for the job, but what has he accomplished in 4 years that qualified him. I was surprised that On Feb19, 2008, Chris Matthew of Hardball interviewed Obama supportor, Senator Kirk Watson, and asked twice,” Can you name one accomplishment of Sen. Obama in the US senate?” He could not name even one!

Compare the resumes, he has far less executive experience than Gov. Palin! I got ask myself, we are faced with the worst crises, would I hire him with no executive experience, never fixed any problem to be the CEO of my company which is in a financial storm? Nope! That would be audacity of insanity! It’s like asking a new electrician to fix a huge blackout after a Hurricane! I have asked at least a dozen of my pro- Obama friends,” What has he done which caused you to believe he will bring good change? Not 1 could name 1 thing! That bothers me more! Are they a bunch of robots who’s been mesmerized by a smooth talking personality? The best is,” He promised to cut tax for…” I remember Clinton promised he would not raise taxes, but turns around to raise it!

I listen to his 30 minute infomercial, and he promised the moon, but I kept asking,”How will he pay for all this, in light of the HUGE bailout? I discovered third shocking fact? It becomes clear that he has a tendency to say anything that would get him votes. Remember he first promised a tax cut for 90% of all Americans. When pointed out that 35%+ don’t pay any income tax, then he changes to 90% of working Americans.

Honestly, I am not sure McCain has the know how to fix our mess, but Obama has even less experience. Quickly, as to who was to blame for this Credit Crises, I think both parties. share the blame, but if you will watch this video of the 2004 Senate hearing to investigate Fannie Mae & Freddie , you will be SHOCKED that it was the Democrats who blocked reform.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

Surprise #2. Sen. Obama’s radical and alliance with dozens of extremists and racists

Willian Ayer was just the tip of iceberg. McCain nor the media has not touched on 95% of them, but I found them googling,” Obama's communist friends.” Obama had at least four mentors, all share a common socialist or communist ideology. They are Frank Marshall Davis, Rev. Jeremiah Wright (a racist Rev. who hated White America), Father Michael Pfleger (another radical left racist) , Professor John L. Mcknight of Harvard . You could learn much about a man by his mentors!

Obama in his book mentioned his first mentor, by “Frank” who guided him in his decisions. If such a person who was like a “father” to him, shouldn’t he mention his FULL name? But if it’s easy to prove that Frank Marshall Davis was a known member of the Communist Party, USA and also a sex pervert and sold drugs, then if I were Obama, I naturally won’t put down his last name. H’mm.

See http://www.aim.org/aim-report/media-abet-communist-cover-up/ Don’t take my word for it, but Google all these issues yourself.

The media did not report to us that Obama campaigned for his communist cousin for President of Kenya 2 years ago. Here’s 2 minute proof:

"Barack Obama and Raila Odinga –this extremist instigated mass murders after he narrowly lost

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1P_P8lBCsE

Surprise #3. Obama sat under his second mentor, America-hating Rev. Wright for 20 years!

How could a man not be influenced? Obama, in his book, said he decided to join Trinity Church of Christ, BECAUSE of its ideology. He HAD to know something about its radical Anti-American beliefs. After hearing over 1000 sermons, how could he give the following lame reply, after Wright’s hate sermons were exposed, “ I never heard such teachings…” Oprah joined this same church but left after 2 years? Why would a man tolerate and subject his children to such regular spewing of hate for THAT long?

See Obama's Ties to Ayers, Rev. Wright & Kilpatrick Takes only 1 minute to see this unbelievable U-tube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDcQUcAjoeI

Obama ‘s favorite writer was Malcolm X

Surprise #4. Obama did clearly have a Muslim past

I have nice muslim co-workers. I don’t despise people of a different religion. Obama has stated that he NEVER was a Muslim, and that he has become a Christian. What bothers me is why did he have to lie about his past? You gotta watch these 2 brief shocking videos where Farrakham of Nation of Islam and Kaddafi of Libya , both called Obama,”My Muslim brother”. Both were on record endorsing him.

Libya’s Kaddafi cheering for Obama in a mass rally http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMgQ-W_hZGc

Racist Farrakham of Nation of Islam calling Obama”Messiah” ,”My brother”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OowxMcVTjTE

Surprise #5. Sen. Obama really believes in Socialism, no kidding!

If someone put a gun to your head, and take your wallet, that’s theft, right? But if the government force businesses and the “rich” to “Spread the wealth around” by taking your money and give to the poor, it’s sacrifices, it’s legal, and patriotic. I don’t get it! Have you ever worked for a poor person? Won’t such coercion force many businesses to lay off or ship the job abroad or just close its door? Greed destroys yourself in the long run! I recall in my college days that class envy/ warfare are Marxist teachings.

I bet you don’t know that in Dec. 07, Obama was a co-sponsor of the Global Poverty Act (S.2433) . He wants America to share $845 billion wealth with all the poor of the world! If that’s not socialism, then I don’t know what is! Sharing is beautiful when it’s voluntary, but it’s evil when it’s compulsory! It bugs me that Obama would not share his wealth with his poor half brother in a Kenyan hut and his poor aunt here!

Obama has said he wants to make the 12 million illegal here U.S. citizens ASAP, add health care…, do the math! I am convinced now that Obama HAS to RAISE TAXES to fund all his pet projects. Best economists say if you increase tax during such times, it will DRIVE US into a Depression! Remember Hoover’s mistake!

I bet you never heard from the media that in 96 Obama first ran for State senator in Illinois for the New Party in Chicago, a socialistic party, NP was established by the Democratic Socialists of America . Weatherman Underground later split from it.

Again, Google, “Obama and New Party” So much documentations here.

Guess what is the favorite slogan of socialists? “Change!” The fact that he voted in IL Senate to Ban all guns, and he was against homeowner’s right to defend his home with a gun worries me more. Radical changes are coming!

Surprise #6. Virtually every communist, socialist, radical groups here and numerous terrorist States/groups abroad all endorses Obama’s candidacy!

This frankly was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me.

They include racist Louis Farrakhan (Nation of Islam), Raila Odinga, communist leader in Kenya, Daniel Ortega, Marxist Leader, Nicarauga, Raul Castro, Cuba, Kaddafi of Libya, the Hamas, New Black Panther Party , William Ayers, and four other members of the Marxist Weatherman Underground! Something’s wrong with this picture! You can not say the same of McCain, no matter what you think of him.

The fact is the above all want to CHANGE America into a Marxist Regime. Should I really be voting for such a man, perceived by enemies of America to be weak or who secretly want to change America into a socialist nation? See link with pictures: you’ll in for a shock!

http://www.jeffhead.com/obamacircle.htm

Shocking #7 Why did Obama refused to release 14 pertinent documents?

Why won’t he release his medical, Columbia thesis record, Harvard College records, Illinois State Senate record, Certified Copy of original Birth certificate , Harvard Law Review articles published. Did he write about socialistic ideas? Obama has yet to release information on more than 80% of his contributors. I checked, McCain has released them.

It bothers me when I found overwhelming evidence that one party is attempting to STEAL this election, by hook or by crook! I don’t care which party! The leftist ACRON has registered 1.2 million new voters this year, there are investigations in 15 States over its massive voter fraud, registering dead or fictitious people, even Mickey Mouse can vote in Florida! Google “Obama and ACORN” His fingerprints are all over this massive, nationwide voter fraud, Obama’s campaign gave over $800,000 to this outfit! He trained its workers, but he had the audacity to lie before nationwide YV audience,” I was not involved with ACORN”!

In closing, I am a well educated professional, I came to the conclusion and I hate to admit it, much of my shock is due to the mainstream media. I just read the PEW poll which found 70% of the people think the media favors Obama, while only 9% for McCain.

Obama cannot be a strong candidate, with the worst economic mess, armed with record war chest, outspending McCain 5 to 1, he should be running at least double digits!. Currently, he is about 3 points ahead. This is still a very dangerous world, even Sen. Biden predicted Obama will be tested by foreign powers within n 6 months. I wonder on which side he will stand on? All his close buddies hate America! The fact that he championed & voted for driver’s license for illegal Aliens in Illinois showed he was incredibly naïve and way out of mainstream America!

I also am concerned that if he wins, for the first time, there’ll be no more checks and balance as one party controls all branches!

From my heart, I like to see a African American to be President, but the RIGHT kind of African American, Obama has too much heavy baggage from his hidden past, No spin, no speculation

Do your own research rather than go with your media or friend’s spin!

Still not convinced? Watch this exceptional power point!

GOP internal polling ... McCain landslide? (grain of salt / feel good alert)

A regular caller to the Quinn and Rose radio program, "Carl from Ohio," who claims to be involved in the McCain campaign's internal polling operation (I know, I know ...), says that unless the Obama fraud is so widespread it will be a McCain landslide.

Here is what he says the GOP internal state by state polling is showing for last night:

NJ M - 48, O - 43, U-7
MI M - 44, O- 42, U - 10
CA O - 44, M - 43, Barr - 3, U - 9
PA M - 55, O - 33, U - 10

He says undecideds are breaking 4:1 for McCain.

In Pennsylvania, the Dem vote is O - 47, M - 37, U - 13

#1 issue for Dems voting for McCain is the that Obama is cheating and trying to buy the election...

The McCain Surge: 6 Reasons Why He'll Likely Defeat Obama for the Presidency

A recent conversation with dozens of Democratic friends in key states such as Ohio and Michigan proved invaluable in assessing this year's race. Conversation after conversation with Democrats, voters who pulled the lever for the likes of Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry have privately conferred on me they will be voting Republican this year. Astonished, I pressed harder, asking why in the current financial and economic crisis, would they break ranks from their party. There answers were numerous, but it stemmed primarily from Obama's past, his upbringing, his business and personal relationships with questionable characters, along with the perception that McCain is "more like me".

If you trust IBD for raw numbers, and assume that the “undecided” vote breaks heavily for McCain (most analysts do), then I’d say as of yesterday, McCain has about a 2% national lead.

If he keeps the momentum going into Tuesday, expect to see McCain 51, Obama 47, Others 2, with McCain taking 300+ EV.
