Is the new VP Palin different than McCain on Global Warming and Illegal Immigration? I would love to know because it will decide my choice to get actively involved in the McCain's campaign or not.
Thanks,
Kuja
I hope not, as well. Illegal immigration is a big issue for me. However, I'm not all that concerned at this time that there isn't much out there from Palin on illegal immigration being that both her mayorship and governorship are in Alaska. Not a really hot issue all the way up there!
Thanks for the link, TomGuy. It would appear from that link that Laura Ingraham has talked to her about “comprehensive” immigration reform and says Palin’s definitely not for it.
Good.
This is a plus & cause for optimism, IMO. We've seen how being too close to the problem (and money) effects politicians.
“She seriously questioned the computer models used to project global warming data.”
Oh no! Very little compassion for drowning polar bears.
“Oh no! Very little compassion for drowning polar bears.”
She probably eats them just like moose!
I know it's blasphemy here, but economies do what they do and taxes do what they do, so I am willing to fight the good fight over tax issues also.
I would have to think for awhile longer to figure if there were any more "deal breakers" for Pres or VP. For example what would many of us do if he chose Liberman? Could you vote McCain just to get a strong military but end up with a baby killer? Abortion and Second amendment would make me a home sitter or a 3rd party'er, most likely. If she's weak on immigration, well, I may just have to put up with it. Remember, even Reagan, voted for amnesty and left Lebanon after the bombing. Nobody is perfect, other than me , of course, but I'm not running. You could however write me in if you choose to.
I'm a Christian first, American second, and Conservative 3rd. If Republicans ever go back to the "Rockefeller Republican, I will most likely go 3rd party. They have no hold over most of us. The same Christian conservatives that made the Republicans a party again could leave in a heartbeat if the party decide they don't need us anymore. By straying to McCain, "the Maverick", many Christian conservatives were about to sit home anyway. I think most of us, even here, were going to vote against Obama, not FOR McCain. Tax policy is important, but I can figure a way to make a living one way or another. If Republicans think all we are interested in is what tax bracket they are in, they will lose big. Abortion and Guns is the last thing they need to weaken on. If we can get a fence built, then we can talk about ID cards, work permits, etc.
Yup, I just looked and I'm still jumping up and down. I'll take her for VP gladly. I don't know her well enough yet, but WHAT IF she is the American version of Thatcher? Picture her sending bombers into Iran and shaking her fist at the bastids. I think Thatcher could, if she met the Constitutional standard, win the Republican nomination RIGHT NOW, even with a stroke. We could do a "Weekend at Bernies" type thing and still win, IMHO.
“If she is against Shamnesty then she is a winner.”
True, but ‘what she is’ doesn’t change ‘what he is’. Juan is the same today as he was yesterday. Palin is just window dressing. Like the wolf putting on sheep’s clothing while we all applaud. Unfortunately, far too many freepers are applauding.
Is this THE CAL? Of Allen Keyes fame?
Hey hey hey! Is that really you, girl? I can’t believe that you are here. Oh, how I have missed you.
We’re putting the band back together, I miss reading RLK’s posts, and Mortimer Snavely (RIP Mort)
Hoo rah! Maybe FR can regain some of it’s original pizzaz. I actually miss some of the more “colorful” freepers, who stirred up things. Made the village more exciting. CAL, I can’t begin to tell you how gald I am to “see” you. You belong here.
No no no...not gald. GLAD! Sheesh.
I really miss the “good old days” even the creepy conspiracy late night posts of the Illuminati, etc. I would laugh my a$$ off reading those, I can see why those are gone, but we have lost a lot of very intelligent, “edgy” members over the years. Nice to see CAL though.
Hey, you two! Good to see you both!
And under such great circumstances! The future is looking bright for the GOP.
I truly believe if McCain gets coattails from this election he will not be able to pass Shamnesty or that Liberman Warner Ecowacko bill. I would not vote for him if I thought he had someone on the backburner who would try to screw us like he would on those issues.
Don’t be a stranger.
Hopefully more specific information will come out about this and globull warming, but this is a good indication and raises my excitement level for her.
Palin-McCain '08! (yes, that's in order of preference)
The only problem with amnesty is that McAmnesty will be at the helm and not Palin. She will have no influence on McAmnesty’s insistence on giving amnesty to hordes of third world law breakers.
Ok everyone now that Palin has flipped on global warming from her great newsmax interview to the ABC interview where she does in fact blame us for it; I’m just waiting for her to back comprehensive immigration reform aka shamnesty.
I just knew McCain wasn’t going to pick a rock solid conservative like Sanford or Rounds.
