Who would have thought that John McCain would be the person who would give a rebirth to conservatism in the GOP and the nation.
I have to admit that I was surprised McCain went with a 'solid' conservative. I really throught he would got with Lieberman or Graham.
Charles Krauthammer was on FoxNews this morning, before the announcement. He was saying McCain should go with a 'safe' pick -- a Romney or Ridge, but definitely not an inexperienced unknown such as Palin.
Maybe word finally got to McCain that, in order to win, he MUST have the conservative vote. Without it, he is history.

Rush just gave the base a big pep talk...we CANNOT allow Barry in the White House. We must think judges and we must be united in this election. It helps to have Rush leading the troops, too.

I was shocked to hear Krauthammer say that. I think it may be one of the first times I’ve disagreed with him.

I think those close to McCain are probably perusing the New Media and getting an earful, eyeful. This brilliant choice seems to infer such.
