Gee, my wife told me her place was at home with our kids, so she quit her job for 15 years until the oldest was in school.

Where did I bash stay at home moms? She CHOSE to stay at home. She had the opportunity to make the decision and that’s my entire point. Good for her if that’s what works best for your family.
And the 1873 comment was about a specific e-mail that was read on Fox News where the writer said he was a Republican and was extremely disappointed with Palin because she should be at home raising her children and not in public office. Follow the thread, other people were annoyed, too.
Guess what — I’m a stay-at-home, homeschool educating mother, in a “classic” marriage, and I STILL let her have it. It’s the choice of the family how they wish to live - particularly if her husband supports her in her decision. If they have decided that this is what is right for their family, then who are we to say anything? That’s my feeling... I for one am very grateful for the sacrifice she is making for our country. And, I am also very proud of her — she is a great role model for our young women.
By the way — that particular person that is being spoken of - was part of the Viking Kitties lunch today...
