I still remember 9/11 and the threads on here which were pulling in reports from hundreds of sources

For sure...I archived a couple of 'em on the "links" portion of my home page so that I can go back and be re-amazed again...

Hey, I hope you’ll stay around FR and give us plenty of updates on the word from the north country...... one of the great things about FR is when we can all benefit from FReepers with unique locations, backgrounds, knowledge & experience, etc. Sure will need to be hearing from Alaska in the coming weeks and months!

I used to have to drive stock across Wyoming. I was the youngest and all the old hands would say "Let the kid do it." Miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles. It was a highlight to meet another car. Texas ain't got nothin' on Wyoming.

I was there the year ('67 I think) that they had the BIG snow in January and then a series of late snows. Nothing but snow and slush and mud. Five guys stuck in a little house and rations were mainly beans. I think they burned the house after we left.

...female Clinton voters would love her (Palin)...

Why? Is Gov. Palin a bitter Man-hater? [sarcasm] Seriously, I'd like to see McCain's numbers on how well she polls with certain demographics. My guess is that the Alaska Governor is not on most peoples' radar screens outside of FreeRepublic -- that's not necessarily a bad thing.

If Romney is out this is a huge mistake by McCain. Palin has zero name recognition. This reaks of McCain desparately trying to pander to the female voters. It reminds me of the Mondale / Ferraro ticket and will probably be as successful.

This will have the Demagogues in meltdown mode...... Olberdork and Matthews will both be on suicide watch.

They were sooooo excited about their Obamessiah and suddenly all those PUMAs are going to be seriously considering abandonment of the Demagogues. McCain/Palin don’t need to win millions of PUMAs, just a few hundred thousand could easily be the game-changer.

Will Olberdork have a complete and final meltdown on camera? MSNBC should have the straightjacket ready......

Picking Palin would definitely make it harder to go after Obama for his “inexperience”. McCain would lose a lot of credibility on that front.

The rats will call her corrupt and try to link her to the Senator there. Then McCain and Sarah will educate everyone on corruption. Washington (and the MSM) is about to get an enema.
