Let's start a comment and update page as we get more and more info coming in. We now know Hutchison is not the choice. She confirmed she was not the pick with Neil Cavuto about 45 minutes ago.
Fox News has also confirmed that all potential selections will be in Dayton tomorrow. And has confirmed that both Pawlenty and Romney cancelled appearances on their schedules.
Comments anyone???? Predictions???
I would rather have someone with Meg’s resume as VP than any Senator and most Governors.
You’re kidding me. Someone has a sense of humor.
Palin is American born and over 35
She’s not too young....
And, if it is Meg, I would like to see the job of VP and the POTUS’ Chief of Staff combined.
She was a much better campaigner than Bob in 96, she’s got plenty of experience and rates over 90 with the ACU—more conservative than McCain.
Yeah, we heard the whole "CEO President" argument 8 years and $5 trillion borrowed dollars ago.
You all just see this?
Drew said...
“McCain campaign sources have told me Pawlenty, Huckabee, Romney, and Lieberman will be at the rally tomorrow with John McCain.”
“WITH McCain” as in on the same stage just lending their support? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Who is Drew??????
Maybe it's my lack of objectivity, but if McCain-Palin site keeps bouncing to everyone but Palin...maybe it's Palin.

Yes, she is, but that doesn’t mean she’s an acceptable Commander-in Chief.
We are Republicans, not Democrats. Our standards must be much higher. People with the quality of Dick Cheney and Ronald Reagan are only possible in our party because our primary electorate insists on quality, by and large. Bush’s low poll ratings are a partial result of disappointment on the part of Republican voters in his performance.
Remember how, during Impeachment, Democrats rallied around Clinton? Republican voters never would have done that to an errant Republican. They would have run him out of town on a rail. That’s why a lot of Republicans are so disappointed this week over Young’s primary victory in Alaska.
Remember the Cheney rules: when you’re a Republican and you’re being considered for Veep, you’re being considered for President.
Can Palin be POTUS if something happens to McCain? I’m not sure she’s ready yet. Next cycle? Maybe. Needs seasoning, as does Bobby in LA. That’s my beef with Barak, he’s not ready.
All that aside, Steve Schmidt is playing Matt Drudge like a Stradivarius. Expect teases during the buildup to the Sermon on the Mile High, but nothing dispositive. The hammer will come down right after Obama’s speech to step all over the Young Jesus’ glow.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
Under your rationale, which I agree with, Fred Thompson should be the VP, hands down (pun intended). But that is not the rationale McCain is working under.
Ok, point taken.
But... did Bush ever make a success of his businesses like Mitt did or was he just a figurehead or name?
Not kidding you. Now it says “McCain-Romney.” Webmaster playing with our heads. I like it.
Well, it only bounces to Romney and Joementum.
It doesn’t bounce to Pawlenty, either.
Keep hope alive! Keep hope alive!
If Bob Brinker said it, it ain't true.
Looks like Drew is a credible source!

She’s hot. I’m tired of ugly people running for high public office. But then, I am a silly person.
