Bring - It - On.
The Russian Army has big guns and big trucks. It has the most undisciplined troops of any major force, and they are just no match for the might of the United States military. Call it sabre-rattling, it’s just fact.

They act scared for some reason. In fact the invasion itself and their recent bellicosity looks like false bravado. Domestic PR?? Either that or they are working in concert with China, Iran, N. Korea or whoever to take us down...with nukes.

Just wonderin’ where our military is, ya know the one’s who would be repelling the russian hordes..... Do we have any?
Patton should’ve been allowed to take care of those russian bastards when we had the chance.

I think we need to tread carefully here. The Israeli's had the same view of the Egyptians and their new SAM's back in 1973. There is no one to bail us out if things go badly.
The Athenian disaster at Syracuse in 415 B.C. also comes to mind. The Black Sea is a bad place of the US Navy to operate out of.

Well, I don't have a saber to rattle, but I do have a longsword.
Does that count?

"The extreme rhetoric" Sabre-rattling yes. Also a bolstering of support for it's defense industry. It's also about the legitimacy of international law.
But I wonder what the US statements would be if Russian navy were in our backyard, say in the Gulf of Mexico, giving humanitarian aid to an Aztlan type ethnic uprising inside the US?
