Good for you!
I actually considered the NAVY(back when I was a teenager), but thanks to their education requirements, it was a non-option.
I personally think there should be American boots on the ground apposing the ruskies in Georgia.
Even if the US Gov decides to sit this one out.

"The extreme rhetoric" Sabre-rattling yes. Also a bolstering of support for it's defense industry. It's also about the legitimacy of international law.
But I wonder what the US statements would be if Russian navy were in our backyard, say in the Gulf of Mexico, giving humanitarian aid to an Aztlan type ethnic uprising inside the US?
