CRAWFORD Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison's long-shot prospect for vice president is getting a push from conservative and other pundits in the lead-up to next week's Republican National Convention.
The latest flurry of speculation online and on cable television constitutes at least a third or fourth wave of chatter about Hutchison, whose name surfaces occasionally as a possible Republican vice-presidential candidate...

I think you are right. Kay is not the right woman, but I don’t want her to be called pro-abortion when we know she isn’t.
Of our two senators, I prefer Cornyn over KBH but she is far superior to anybody who has run against her.
And that has what to do with her leaning toward pro choice?
Isn’t she pro-Amnesty? And wasn’t she behind getting the border fence changed from 2 layer to one this last Christmas?
I’d bet McCain would love to have her!
“Why? She doesnt have the experience KBH has.”
So what. The Veep doesn’t do anything except what the President tells them to do (or offer advice on issues of express knowledge - Cheney, presumably Biden)
Since McCain has decades of “experience” he doesn’t need experience as the #1 qualifier of his veep. He needs someone who will rally the base, counter the black/old white guy demo, has limited baggage and is likable. Palin seems to fit the bill on many of these, KBH not so much.
Come on, she's a terrible pick, now John Cornyn would be alright.
“the sharpest knife in the chandelier”
Thinking...thinking...uh...
Hardly the experience needed as POTUS or the person next in line!
If having kids were the criteria, we'd never get rid of Kennedys!!
I can see the bumper sticker now: Vote Superficial, Vote Mitt. ;-)
Palin is an executive. She has decent enough experience, and then there is the fact that McCain would be at the top of the ticket.
I think Palin is his bet bet, both from a good candidate standpoint as well as it energizing his base (and lots of women who are mad about Hillary).
Gotta disagree. Condi would be a huge negative.
Someone not from Texas might be a better idea politically. No offense meant to Texas, just sayin’...Bush fatigue...tying McCain to Bush, etc.
KBH will definitely help McCain in Texas! </sarc>
Correct........ I think it is totally nuts to select a VP on a single issue which that person will have zero control over what happens....... The base goes nuts over many issues why would they change on this one?
Can we have the geniuses at MIT, clone General John Pershing? Now, that is a Leader that commands my full respect. He most definitely would know how to handle America’s foes./Just Asking - seoul62.....
Excellent post on Palin.
I think that ticket would be a winner.
Dear God, no... we don’t need pepaw/memaw 2008!
