DENVER (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

You’re right. The Dems got it all wrong. It shouldn’t be fashioned after the Greeks it should be fashioned as something fitting to a mullah.
Thus the news article about its appearance ;)
Oh well, I'm sure they have plans. Maybe a big crescent rimming a single star...
Will Steve Reeves be there?
So, Mr. Obama’s acceptance speech is going to resemble a “spear and sandal” epic?
The smart ones at least try to mask themselves as Conservatives.
Dukakis in the tank? Kerry in the woods?
Clinton’s good old boy “New Democrat” Charm.
Obama hasn’t even tried to look even a little bit Conservative. And he’s going to lose BIG.
LOL
Golden bull theme! Nice touch. :D
Hitler's favorite backdrops were neo-classical, too. Strangely enough, many modern churches do the same thing; that part, I don't quite understand. I think most of the latter are trying to hark back to the ancient Jewish Temple, though, rather than Greek; but there is a curious blend that occurs.
The Dems want to make Obama a god! This should be fun tomorrow night!
Maybe they can get the cast of 300 to do security.
Euripides
It will get more fun once McCain annouces his running mate choice.
That's not childish -- it's downright Godly; I'm praying for it; join me (or I'll join you).
Those whom God wishes to destroy, he first makes mad.
Euripides
I always thought that was “makes proud.”
Or are ye playing? ‘Cause mad works, too!
LOL
My first thought as well. (I was going to say "you beat me to it," but...)
But, President Clinton will not attend.
As much as I disapprove of the former President’s policies and morality, or lack thereof, as a former President, his actions carry weight. His presidency did not deny American Exceptionalism as Barry’s surely will/would.
Mr. Clinton has more freedom to speak candidly than Hillary with her ambitions. He is telling dems, and everyone else, that the dalibama is simply not ready to be president.
HRC gave a good speech; but, she, too, is damning O with faint praise.
Bill’s comments, demeanor, etc. about THE ONE may be because he’s pissed at the race card O used against him, or it may be because he, among few, knows what it’s like to be president.
Maybe, I see what I want to see or because I see what I expect, but it seems to me Obama is falling apart. His ill-advised Ayers power play is worrisome and pathetic simultaneously. O is a man-child who would be king, with all powers attendant thereto, including censorship.
What a frigging crybaby. What poor instincts. What remarkable naivete. Remember how HRC moved seamlessly to the center at the end of the dem. primaries? O is as clumsy as the puerile novice he is. May be the worst candidate I’ve seen and that includes Dukakis and Dole.
Plus, bin biden is only serving as a contrast to O’s inexperience, not as a vessel of augmentation. Whatever that means.
Aside from HRC, last night was abysmal for the collectivist party.
I thank whoever is responsible for the long, long election process.
Final thought before I shuffle off to work: McCain has done a masterful job of pricking Obama’s celebrity balloon. He will look overblown, vacuous, and monomaniacal at the faux Parthenon in Denver.
ROTFLMAO-What a maroon
I was barfing at all Pelosi and Hillary's references to our brave military and military families. What hypocrapsy.
