Rep. Eric Cantor (Va.), rumored to be on the shortlist of John McCains vice presidential candidates, is conspicuously absent from a complete list of speakers at the Republican National Convention.
The list, sent to reporters under the header Republican National Convention Announces Full Program, includes the names of all other individuals believed to be on Sen. McCains (Ariz.) shortlist.
Cantor was asked earlier this month to undergo the formal vetting process by the McCain campaign and served as one of his most vocal supporters in the House of Representatives.
Rob Collins, a spokesman for Cantor, did not comment directly on whether Cantor would fill the spot left for the yet-to-be-announced vice presidential selection and attributed the absence to the vacuity of convention speakers.
Super cool Cantor ping.
Man, I hope so. Cantor’s a rabid pit bull who’d make short work of Biden in any debate.

Nice, Cantor is a rising star in the GOP, he is not as good as Jindal or Pallin simply because he is not a Governor, he is moving up the ladder though.
I like Cantor but it’s really not unusual that a practically unknown Congressman isn’t speaking.

Does he have a track record of doing well in debates? I don't know much about the guy.

Given that Cantor and Romney are headlining the Republican “shadow convention” right now, it would be VERY unusual for Cantor to not be speaking.
Two things kind of scare me about him... He is a Jew (lots of anti-Semites out there) and his Wikipedia page says he represents a wealthy district, which will help the Marxists portray this as some kind of a class warfare election.

SJackson, this would be a good place for your posts of the youtube clips where he wipes up Chrissy Matthews and others.
I’m reasonably sure it’s going to be Cantor or Romney. Needless to say, I’m rooting for Cantor big-time of those two. Good development.
He’s pretty young as well.
Cantor grew up solidly middle class. No Romney-silver spoon trust fund issues.
That's always a good sign ;)
Thanks for the info. I don’t know much about him (basically what is in the Wikipedia article).
Even those genius "Mittens" would be on board.
A sharp stick in the eye to all of the leftist ani-semites on the American left and our raghead friends overseas as well.
This would be a very interesting pick. Do not fear Cantor’s faith being a problem - in fact, with the MSM it would guarantee McCain better treatment and coverage. And Cantor’s faith would help in Florida, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and northern Virginia.
I just want reassurance that this guy won’t get crushed by Biden in a debate —
