I am living the ramifications of precisely this right now forking over big money for property taxes for broken ghetto schools and paying private on top of that....I want someone here who thinks DC's high black population is not part of the problem to explain to me how they can come to that conclusion?

Right now here in Chicago, State Sen. Rev. James Meeks is leading a “boycott” (really to change the school funding structure) of failing CPS (Black, Hispanic)by advocating students to enroll in an affluent (White) suburb school.

The public schools in America are on the downslide across the board, but there’s no question that the nearly all-black inner city systems are the worst. Schools in Utah aren’t anything like those in DC, Detroit, Newark, and similar places. And the problem isn’t just liberalism. Schools in liberal Vermont aren’t like DC schools, either. They may be cultural wastelands where the kiddies are taught to hate America, to believe in global warming, and to be gay-friendly, but they aren’t filled with violent gangs or rapists. Nor do the kids there have 50% drop-out rates or need affirmative action to get into college.
