The “destroyer” designation is misleading. These are not your granddad’s tin cans dropping depth charges on U-boats. They are guided-missile pocket cruisers with much of the capability of an Aegis. This one ship can protect a huge swath of territory against any aerial incursion.

I hate when definitions change from age to age. We've got different definitions for tanks, and different definitions for ships. Should I throw out my dictionary out the window?
