Another thing that has been bothering me about Palin. She's pregnant but I don't know when she's due. However the stress of a campaign and a pregnancy might not work, not just for the campaign but for her and her family.

But let's go ahead and say she's the VP choice. Let's say McCain/Palin wins. It's Inauguration day and she has a problem with the newborn - or about to be born. As I said I don't know when she's due.

Now let's say McCain has a medical problem after the election but before the inauguration and can't serve as president. Palin - because of pregnancy/newborn problems can't serve. Where does the presidency go?

I'm guessing it goes to Pelosi...shudder.

As much as I would love to see Palin as VP, it may not be the best choice for several reasons including the one I mentioned.

Admittedly I am reaching here.

Conservatives don't like tax-raising, but Palin justified the increase by pointing out that the previous 22.5% tax was passed in 2006 under suspicious circumstances. Several members of the legislature that set the amount of that tax were convicted or indicted on federal bribery charges related to the bill. Palin also explained that the '06 tax did not perform as advertised, and she offered as evidence an $800 million shortfall in expected revenue

This is supposed to be a recommendation for this woman? The original 22.5% tax did not raise as much revenue as expected so the answer is to raise the tax? Sounds like politics as usual to me.

Taxes cause people (and companies) to change their behavior. Politicians never seem to be able to grasp this concept

McCain is ahead in the polls. A hypothetical McCain-Romney ticket is way behind.

Checkmate only comes when more electoral votes are tallied in your column, and palin brings none at all.

She brings exactly the same number Dick Cheney brought.

I got that bumpersticker a few weeks back.

I love the looks I get from the freaks with the 01 20 09 etc. stickers.

Regarding Palin - I don’t feel she’s at that level - but I could be wrong.

Your post causes me concern in a couple of areas:
>She raised taxes (taxes which feed more government)
>She had the government pay for an infrastructure (gas pipeline) that could have been accomplished by the gas companies, provided the right incentives.

When are we going to stand for true conservative (e.g., small government, low taxes, free market) values?

What?

She just had a baby four months ago.

“Biden would eat Palin or Pawlenty alive in the VP debate. She’s good, but unprepared for the demands of the national stage.”

I doubt if Biden would eat anyone alive, but Palin did not seem very impressive in an August 1 interview with Larry Kudlow on NRO. Someone really articulate, logical, and knowledgeable as McCain’s veep nominee would help point up the Dem team’s lack of depth.

Lieberman would mean an Obama win.

I’d stay home.

You are reaching. She gave birth 5 or 6 months ago. I think it’s her 5th child. She’d be a refreshing pick, as would Jindel.

Palin is not pregnant. Her youngest child was born at the end of April.

What will Romney do to harm the McCain campaign?

As the author of the piece above indicates, the Democrats will hammer Mitt as an "out-of-touch gazillionaire oblivious to the needs of working families." With Biden portraying himself as "working class" and apparently having minimal net worth to prove it, is it wise for the GOP to put forward two really rich guys? Heck, I voted for Mitt in the California primary, but I don't think that he would help the ticket at this point.

Palin is the brilliant choice for a sure win. Watch the enthusiasm level jump exponentially when she is selected.

I agree. God knows Romney is better than some of the losers that have been named, but he’s far from an ideal VP. And he will further weaken McCain in the South, as we saw from the voting patterns in the primaries.

Palin or Cantor would both be better, and Palin probably would play better than most on TV. Not sure if she wants to do it, but she’d be great.

Bullfeces. This woman has battled crooked pols in both parties for 16 years. She'd lay the smackdown in Washington.

McCain needs to choose Palin - NOW

Sorry, I am not much in favor of Palin becoming the vp nominee. Her bio may be impressive on paper and to the voters of Alaska, but I have never heard her speak in the lower 48. I have never read of her out there on campaign stump for McCain. She is not a known national figure, in fact, most people probably have never heard of her. If it were not for FR, I would know a lot less about her, than I do. She is rarely mentioned in the national news. I am not in favor of McCain choosing her.

I like Sarah Palin a lot but like you I’m concerned an old gasbag like Biden could beat up on her in a debate. Pawlenty just brings little to the party.

So, what happened to Obama’s “change”?? Biden is nothing more than a plagiarizing loudmouth who's part of the Dem's Old boy crowd.
