Two Republicans who know say McCain has settled on Mitt Romney as his running mate. Developing...

I believe that Mr. Romney will help Michigan, Ohio, Nevada, Colorado, and quite possibly Pennsylvania. If this turns out to be true, Mr. McCain and Mr. Romney will be in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania next week for that very reason.
Colorado and Nevada get shored up. And he may help in Michigan.
Why?
Why would a person who will not be running the show have any such impact as that? VPs do what presidents delegate them to. Romney will do no different than a Coburn, Lieberman, Portman, Kasich, DeMint, Crist, Huntsman, or Ridge. Now granted Romney brings more chops to the table than most of those guys but still they are working in concert with McCain.
There is a concerted, organized effort by Romney supporters to get McCain to pick him.
This is just another one of their many stunts.
McCain isn't stupid enough to pick Romney.
Romney is not conservative enough for me.
Naturally, I’m voting Obama.
I live in TX, a great conservative state. But guess what. The Dems are pushing here very hard. They aren't just going to sit by and let the Repubs have this state forever. They are making inroads slowly.
Kudos to those brave ones who run for office in MA, NY, NJ, CA or any other crummy liberal state. Then they have to get called traitors to the Republican party. Maybe one day all 57 states will be liberal and we won't have anyone to pile on any more.
Mr. Romney is man who loves automobiles. This is a man who can help this country come up with a good alternative for us to keep our automobiles.
NY Times says its Romney or Pawlenty:

It's clear to me that what Time/The Page is doing is called speculation. You know how these folks like to trot out their sources, of course not naming them, but letting us know how reliable they are.
It's gonna be hard enough to vote for McCain, and adding Mitt will just make it that much harder for me.
And you know this how?
Who were rush and the majority of FR rallying around when Thompson withdrew?
that’s right. Mr. Mitt.
“Does he win Michigan for McCain? No.”
Can you predict the future now? If so I’d like to consult you on a number of things outside of politics.
“Quit your bawling and leave the party then. Please!”
Hehehe, take your “bawl” and go home?
IF it’s true, it will be a ticket I will strongly support.
Choice B is unavailable at this time, unfortunately.
We get either choice A, or door #3, a dangerous radical Marxist buffoon.
This is the least palatable election choice of my lifetime (since 1984, when I’ve been old enough to vote.)
Bingo!!!!
Post 158 out pops the “B” word!!!
In fairness, the “Mitt Wishes You a Happy Gay Pride Week” poster (another required item) got in the top 50.
