Speaking of getting elected dogcatcher . . . many years ago, the local dogcatcher in my hometown was a guy named D’Iorio. For some reason, I remembered that all this time.
Out of curiosity, a few months ago I decided to look up my hometown website to see who held the esteemed office now. The current “Animal Control Officer” is a guy named . . . D’Iorio. It’s got to be the guy’s son. He must have passed down the job—kind of a dynasty, I guess.
Takes a while to get over the nut callers, slowly but surely it happens.
