What is not in the story? Does the guy work? If so where? What are his wages? Does he have a bank account? What is he doing to help himself? Does he need help? Is he asking for it?

I choose to give directly to needy is in direct opposition to wwlfare. My 20.00 is 20.00 to the recipient, not the 5.00 after welfare gives it out.

I send $10.00 per month to a former associate priest in my church who went home to Ghana to tend to his native flock so yes I do support third world people with my private charity. And it’s really no skin off your nose, now is it? Nor would I consider it evidence of my wholehearted support for some sort of global tax! That contortion of logic is simply ridiculous!
I, actually, am not personally inclined to send $12.00 to Obama’s brother even though it wouldn’t even make a dent in my personal fortune. I do my own thing. But I think it’s brilliant if someone orchestrates it!
I’d rather spend it at the USPS sending a care package to my deployed husband!
