I look at that picture, and can’t figure out what he needs all that space for. Is that an attached barn? Horses? Or is that for all his vehicles?

It looks to me like an immense version of the “add-on shacks” I see driving through East Texas and Louisiana. They slap a new piece of house on wherever it fits, then another one onto that one...

Is that an attached barn?

It's a full-size basketball court.

Before the Rezko deal, the lot was for sale:

Some details of the Snowbama homestead .. more about the deal at link:

"Obama and his wife were already flush with success when they went house hunting last year. Their combined income--bolstered by payments for his best-selling autobiography and advances for future books--topped $1.67 million. His wife, Michelle, had recently been promoted to a $316,962-a-year position as vice president at the University of Chicago Hospitals.

House has 4 fireplaces

They were drawn to a 96-year-old Georgian revival home that has four fireplaces, glass-door bookcases fashioned from Honduran mahogany, and a 1,000-bottle wine cellar, according to real estate listings and an interview. The house and the adjoining yard--which is surveyed as a separate lot--are rimmed by 12-foot-tall evergreens.

In the past, the two lots had been sold as a single estate. But in 2005, the owners listed the two parcels for sale separately."

Zoning changes .... ? I'll just bet that happened first, maybe with some 'persuasion.'

The mansion of Snowbama's 20-year former, now retired 'pastor' and 'mentor,' Jeremiah Wright:

"(William) Ayers, 63, ((MY NOTE: 60's Weathermen terrorist)) lives in a three-story brownstone with his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, a comrade in the Weathermen and fellow fugitive for most of the 1970s.

Ayers-Dohrn brownstone probably resemling these

Christopher Dodd's 'other' home in East Haddam, CT, for which he received unusual terms, while claiming that this and his DC home were BOTH 'primary' residences:

One more for good measure, the Feinstein mansion in San Francisco:

If the red schoolhouse-looking wing is the Breck Girl's office, that long hallway is probably lined with mirrors.
