Will Warren throw softballs on the issue of abortion?
Will he give both candidates free passes?
Will this be an attempt to minimize the lives of the unborn while giving higher priority of less urgent social issues?
A question since I missed the first half (Obama) - Did John McCain sit in a sound-proof booth during Obama’s session so that he didn’t hear the questions in advance?
By the way, when did it become popular for tv reporters to ask the questions? Tonight’s forum proved that we need thoughtful, hard pressed questions on issues that AMERICANS NEED ANSWERS to and that were sent in by people and given consideration to.
I am an evangelical who have friends that attend Saddleback church - I am a Jesus Christ fan, NOT a Rick Warren fan, but feel that he did a very good job in presenting the questions and then allowing both candidates time and non-pressure to answer the questions.
My husband and I both came away much impressed with John McCain tonight. His sense of humor needs to be MUCH more outfront - didn’t even realize how funny he can be off the cuff! More than anything, McCain gets the big picture, especially in sending our oil money to OUR ENEMIES and that was an excellent time to declare the difference between him and Obama on energy!
I am more encouraged tonight than I have been in over 3 years....

I can not stand Warren because I have watched him for quite some time now and think he is bad news. However, I agree, he did a good job tonight.

My beef with him on several major issues continues. But he did a great job tonight.
OK, LOL, I was shooting from the hip on that number. What McCain showed was that he is an experienced professional politician. And he should be after more than thirty years in the House and Senate. Which is why I have been saying he will win.
I agree with Kauthammer who said something like "this was the best format I have ever seen." It would be pretty hard for either side to argue that there was anything unfair about it. I suppose this format could be manipulated if the questions had been weighted to help one candidate over the other. But I don't think that could be said of this event.

........... I was wondering how the DBM would spin last nights debate and I sure got a half an hour earful this morning C-spam.
Evidently there were some frantic late night chatting points sent almost immediately by the DNC to the drive-bys telling them:
1. yes there was a debate
2. keep it short
3. make no reference to who won or who didn't.
Make no reference to who won and make it seem fair and objective but make no reference at all to the slam dunk that it was as shown last night on FNC by all except Ann lewis who was desperate for a save and Dana Bash on CNN who tried to change the topic after here other rat brethren admitted to a huge Souterra loss.
So the DBM mantra is admit there was a debate but keep it short and don't ever admit defeat, slick at best but I still say you cant fool Americans and last night was the beginning of the end for Barry Soeuterra.
Good catch cricket, unfortunately FNC is learning from the movers and shakers at the RNC that we can be bussed and still remain viewers. They are wrong of course and every time they screw up we will do the reporting job they should have done.
McCain's appearance last night, showing who he really is, was a true moment in historical political time that should be recalled for a long time. Now let's just hope he doesn't do something dumb to counter it all.

Hope this is better than the 'low key' presentation they offered las night which had both McCain and Obama close to 'null and void'.
He did not mention Al Queda nor how he would defeat it, it was pathetic IMO, and I got angry that America was his second choice in pointing out evil.
Neither do the networks.
I'm old enough to recall that Sunday morning TV consisted of old cartoons ~ I've seen Disney's Mickey Mouse on a tug boat thing a thousand times in fact ~ can rerun the whole thing in my mind at the drop of a hat.
Instant analysis is usually pretty poor stuff.
Also, one of the most important things, the network commentators had not yet gotten a chance to see what the blogs said, or what was discussed on FreeRepublic.
Now that we've had our say, it's time for them to parrot our words.
