I would be happy if Palin is the VP pick. I would be a lot more enthusiastic in voting for that ticket. Yes!
Some of her support of gay benefits turn me off, but her pro-life record would definitely make the ticket more palitable. What is her stance on foreign policy issues such as Israel?
Either Sarah Palin or Eric Cantor for VP would be fine by me, but there truly are plenty of other decent conservatives who would also be fine by me as VP. It’s the final ‘08 GOP Presidential candidate that I truly still have a long list of problems with!
“Check with Duncan Hunter if you want a real conservative for VP!”

That’ll work!
I didn’t know she supported homosexual causes. That’s really a turn-off for me. Doesn’t she also have some ongoing scandal involving relatives? I don’t know the details but I imagine the dems could make it an issue. But I think it would be great if McCain chose a woman, provided she is a true conservative. Not sure who would fit the bill, though.

She was against same-sex marriage from what I can tell, but her veto was used to give them benefits. She has gay friends and doesn’t want them discriminated against, but at the same time, she isn’t going to let them wed. Not a perfect stance, but not horrific either.
But I do think that she would bring so many young Christian voters to the polls that it would damn near negate Obamas advantage there. Her story on the life issue is a pro lifers Gospel.
IMO if he picks Palin he wins.
He might win without her, but with her I think it’s a sure thing.
I’d love to see Palin running for president in 2012 against Hillary...Hillary, the dowdy witch, up against Palin, would be fun to watch.
Same logic works with McCain:
If he’s got a strong, energetic VP who people would be comfortable with stepping in, then his age isn’t an issue.
As much as I like Duncan Hunter, Mitt Romney fits that bill PERFECTLY.
Duncan Hunter for VP (ô¿ô)
Quit bringing us all down with your logic and reasoning. Having a representative of a downtrodden and mistreated demographic would be super-neat, don’t ya know. :)
Palin is the brilliant choice if McCain wants a sure win. The enthusiasm that is so lacking now would be there in spades with Palin.
He might win without her, but with her I think its a sure thing.
I agree. It would be the smart move, which, in McCain's case makes it unlikely.
A reading of the article tells us that Sarah Palin was a Miss Congeniality, as if that’s a wonderful credential for someone a heartbeat away from the presidency John McCain proposes.
We are told she was a “fiercely competitive” basketball player.
Happily married. Gorgeous. Smart.
We are given no essential facts about her political achievements. Commentaries about Palin always go begging for substance; one almost suspects there isn’t any.
So I went googling. She was mayor of a town of about 6000 people.
From 2003-2004 she served in an appointed position as Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, from which post she resigned in protest in some controversy. (Her days as the fiercely competitive high school basketball player were not reflected there.)
No facts yet as to what she was doing between 2004 and 2006 before running for election.
She’s been governor for a year and a half. She vetoed a bill granting benefits to gay partners, although she said she was against it; rather than show leadership by acting on her beliefs and signing a bill passed by the legislature, she bowed to the black robes of the state Supreme Court; she went against her own judgment AND the will of the people and vetoed the bill.
She cut some fat from the budget, leaving it “the largest operating budget in Alaska’s history,” which she signed.
She’s rather inexperienced, to put it kindly. I’ve heard her speak and she doesn’t impress me.
One more thing. Not to belabor my point, but her B.A. degree was in journalism.
So...what’s going on here? Why on earth would anyone seriously endorse her as a likely or appropriate vice-presidential running mate?
