Is it that you don’t believe the specific numbers or that you don’t believe air pollution kills at all?
I think guessing at numbers is BS, but I don’t think there’s any question that air pollution can kill or hasten death.
There is an automatic tendency to accept that as ‘common sense’ yet there is not a shred of documented evidence outside of heavily polluted work environments and extreme weather-related events leading to trapped recycled air.
If you were confined to a room where the air was maintained at 21% oxygen but had a system to remove all CO2 even as you breathed about in it, your respiration rate would go haywire; ill effects suspected to be causes of disease from air pollution are nearly impossible to indict and are assumed to be from long-term exposure.
Investigators are supposed to interrogate the evidence, not torture it.
