Sad, very sad.
What effect could his death have on the outcome of the convention?
A commenter on one of the local news boards is saying Gwatney has passed away. Sure hope this is not the case.
Weird really weird. Hope they can sort through this quickly.
Ah geez, hope they are wrong.
The mod changed the headline to indicate Gwatney was “dead,” but now the headline seems to have gone bad to critical condition. Weird.
OH No,Prayers.
Amazing that there’s still less than 100 replies on this thread.
Prayers for his recovery
bump, then
I’m monitoring several local sources here. There are no credible reports that Gwatney has died. But with three serious gunshots to the upper torso, he is in a grave situation.
If it does turn out to be fatal, then the media will probably hold up this info until his family (wife, children?) have time to be notified and don’t have to hear about it on a car radio or TV.
Wow, in 2004 when one of the Republican headquarters was shot at it hardly earned a mention in the papers, but they are all out on this one. Hope it turns out to be a Hillary supporter, which is the most likely possibility.
from my understanding the chairman supports Hillary.
What ever the reason, it does sound very personal and not the actions of a crazed politically motivated person, as only the one man was shot.
Prayers for him and his family.
Why would a Hillary supporter shoot the chairman when he endorsed Hillary?
If the suspect is found to have been an Obama supporter, then the already massive rift between Obama and Hillary supporters grows even larger, and makes a win for Obama in November next to impossible, IMO.
That is just really sad, whatever the cause. Free elections is part of what makes this country great. Violence and intimidation have no place here.
Sympathies for the victims.
