What bothers me is if he was born in Hawaii, why doesn’t he just get a copy of his birth certificate? They keep them, don’t they??

So the current working theory holds that you would need a judge's order to unseal the 1970 records, then a second judge's order to unseal the 1965/1966 records, then a third judge's order to unseal the original 1961 records.
So right now, the theory holds that Barack Jr is sitting behind doubly redundant legal protection which keeps anyone from getting at the original 1961 records.
And if Barack Jr was born on American soil [not Canadian or Kenyan or Japanese soil], then the new HIPAA legislation would make it a felony for a hospital worker to release the hospital records of his birth without a court order.
They keep them and they are SIMPLE to get. I got certified copies of my kids records in 3 weeks for 5$ each.
This gets further complicated if his original birth certificate was sealed, due to his adoption by Mr. Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen afterwards. This would mean that anything in the *public* file would carry the name Barak Hussein Soetoro, and *not* Barak Hussein Obama. Its highly possible that he hasn't produced a valid certificate under the name Barak Hussein Obama, simply because he can't...
