It wasn’t just “ cutting short” the National Anthem! That is the most insipid, gutless, incorrect, moronic, watered-down, revolting instrumental version of THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER I have EVER heard....rivaling most of the nauseating solo vocal versions. Our GooseStepping hosts have no right to select the version of our National Anthem they will allow. A CD of the anthem by the US Army Band, The US AirForce Band, The US Marine Corps Band, or the US Navy Band, or the Boston Pops, needs to be forwarded IMMEDIATELY to Beijing. When I was in Band, long long ago, it was the Navy version all the way. I can still hum the sousaphone counterpoint to this day.
