yes. It is clear too that it (up to the time the Enquirer caught him red handed) is still going on. None of this 2006 stuff. Even if he was just visiting her because it is his kid (and not Andrew Young's), he stuck around long enough with her alone in a hotel room to blow that lie into oblivion. Elizabeth has sadly been replaced with her own life in the balance. What a horrible human being John Edwards is. Elizabeth is probably just worried about her children in case she doesn't beat her cancer.
If this is the case with Edwards then he is indeed a poor excuse for a man.
Though IMHO it does not mean if Elizabeth Edwards continues to remain with him that she is weak or an enabler. There are many reasons even in 2008 why couples stay together.
Guilt, great love by one of the partnership, money, position, children, place in society. Who are we to judge and say this is wrong.
To stay often take as much if not more courage than to break from the marriage.
