I heard that we are now consenting to carry the Georgian troops from Iraq back to Georgia on our aircraft...we have upped the ante to the Russiaans. They do not want reinforcements coming in and are willing to blackade to keep it from happening. Will they enforce an air embargo?
Would they shoot down US aircraft to prevent it?
Bush is big time calling a bluff here...is it a bluff?
I hope those C-17s or C-141s have good fighter escorts going in, preferably Raptors.
In addition, the Ukaraine is now saying that any Black Sea Fleet vessels involved in the blockade cannot return to Sevastapol. That is huge because it is Russia's primary base on the Black Sea, but it is owned by the Ukraine.
Chess pieces are moving all over the board here.

You know what the most bad-ass, daredevil action Bush could take would be? Flying straight from Beijing to Tblisi.
Okay won't happen... at least he should get back to DC.

A fully loaded flight of say, eight Raptors coming in ahead of the C-17s flying with another four Raptor escorts and with AWACS and Refueling support would make a very good show of force and would probably be enough to sweep anything from the skies the Russians would try to stop it with short of them employing regimentqal strength.
I really do not believe the Russians would try, but in such circumstances you have to be sure and show them that it would be foolhardy to try. But Putin is not to be disscounted or underestimated.

Maybe though, we could hire those Ukranian's flying those big Antonov An-124s. I saw one of those on the Army ramp across the runway from the civilian terminal about a year ago.

The "Russian" SU-25 is a Georgian Su-25KM "Scorpian" according to a
military photo website.
Check out the ordinance and camo paint job too!
Click link and scroll down...
The SU-25KM (Kommercheskiy Modernizirovannyy), nicknamed "Scorpion", is an Su-25 upgrade programme announced in early 2001 by the original manufacturer, Tbilisi Aerospace Manufacturing in Georgia, in partnership with Elbit Systems of Israel. The prototype aircraft made its maiden flight on 18 April 2001 at Tbilisi in full Georgian Air Force markings.

Chess game, indeed.
And the goal is twofold:
1. Oil
2. Dividing of the teams (USSR, ChiComs, Venezuela, Brazil?, Cuba (the New USSR mentioned putting missile bases on Cuba recently), and potentially India) vs. the rest of the world.

The match is now. It's fish or cut bait time. I predict we whine and cut bait. Agreed on both counts. We will not engage. It will be interesting to see what happens if the bear swallows up Georgia though. Seems to me we established a rather clear doctrine when Saddam swallowed up Kuwait. I predict Russia doesn't go quite that far, settling for allowing them to be "autonomous", but with Russian tanks in every town square. More like the Syrian-Lebanese model. Or the China-North Korea.

When a nation stops reporting M3, Why can't you use M1 and M2? What else in M3 is so important?
devalues its money creating inflation,
We devalued our money? How did we do that? Unless you're too busy. LOL!

If Russia wanted to commit suicide that would be the surest way of doing it. Russia's survival depends on our mercy. Think about what you're saying. We armed a bunch of cave dwellers and they drove the USSR out. We dismantled Saddam's Iraq forces, the third largest Army on the planet with a defense system designed by the Russians in a matter of weeks. Lastly, the World War has been going on for some time. Wake up. We need to interject ourselves into the situation and dare them to fire on us.

Close the Roki Tunnel. Cut off the Russians. Put a Fighter Squadron from Turkey over Georgia to defend Georgias airspace, and send Airborne Troops to contain Russsians in Georgia. The Russians are out on a limb here. Lets chop it off.
