ha ha ha...the bear was in the neighbors back yard this morning.

It was born about 2 years ago. I feel so sorry for this one in particular. I do not know if it had been in a trap or what but it has a broken paw. It kinda uses its elbow area on its front leg to walk.

The big mother bear had twins again this year....

Please add Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave (Colorado’s Fourth District) to your list. She was there yesterday.

UPDATE! I just called her congressional office in DC. She’s still there!

Video: Udall’s Day Off (GREAT VIDEO)

The NRSC released this ad earlier this week for the Colorado race to replace the retiring Senator Wayne Allard. Rep. Mark Udall wants to join Ken Salazar and make both of Colorado’s Senate seats Democratic, but Udall may find that more difficult after his inaction in the face of Nancy Pelosi’s ramrodding of adjournment in the House. Earlier last week, Udall promised to block adjournment until a vote was take on drilling — and then he went AWOL when the vote occurred:

What a great list!

Will you add me to your ping list for this, please? I agree that we need to support conservatives nation wide to get OUR party back to where it should be!

I am sooooo happy to see McClintock, Duncan D. and Dana Walsh from CA on your list. I don't think the CRP will be giving much money to McClintock (he's too conservative or their liking!) so we need to pick up the slack!

Thanks for doing this because it is really very helpful! :)

But, why has it taken them so long to FINALLY grow a spine and draw a line in the sand? Why have only a handful of House Republicans joined this fight instead of ALL House Republicans??

If this is really your opinion, then you have not been following the energy debate closely at all! There have been MANY lines drawn in the sand and at every turn, the LIBERALS, controlled by BIG ENVIRONMENT, have opposed US becoming more energy independent.

Speaking of President Bush, has anyone seen this? LOLOL. The Hill.com

House Republican leader rips Bush

"A House Republican leader is lambasting President Bush on his decision not to call Congress back into session to deal with the energy crisis.

In a legislative update sent to GOP members and staff on Tuesday, Republican House Policy Committee Chairman Thaddeus McCotter (Mich.) accused "Beijing George" Bush of throwing House Republicans "under the bone-dry bus" on his way to the Olympics in China.

House GOP leaders last week called on Bush to convene an emergency session ofCongress, but the White House said such a move would not make a difference because Democrats would not call for an up-or-down vote on offshore drilling legislation.

McCotter, known for his frank and sometimes unusual political opinions, was not pleased with that decision. His memo stated, "Today, in his final term, the wildly unpopular President George W. Bush boarded Air Force One bound for the Beijing Olympics and a meeting with his chum Hu Jintao, the dapper ruler of a nuclear armed, communist dictatorship. ... Perhaps our Compassionate Conservative-in-Chief will bring our absent Democrat Congress some 'Made in (communist) China' souvenir t-shirts: 'Bush went to Beijing and all I got was this lousy five week, paid vacation.' "

The memo ends, "Bon Voyage, Mr. Bush! House Republicans will fight on for America!"

Asked for comment, White House spokesman Tony Fratto said, "Let me be very clear: we support what the House Republicans are doing. They are doing the right thing by shining a light on this issue. There should be no mistake about that. Unfortunately, simply calling Congress into session isn't going to guarantee that Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi [D-Calif.] will give a vote on the bill.

"Democratic leaders need to hear from their constituents, from the American people, who support expanding domestic drilling by overwhelming majorities. We want clean votes on these issues, and the best way for that to happen is if Democrats bring up a bill that addresses these issues, like the Interior appropriations bill. If congressional Democrats listen to their constituents, they will put these issues on the floor for votes when they return."

These points are great! True ... True.

If they were posted individually ... it would emphasize each idea/fact more effectively plus adding 8 more posts to the thread.

If it isn't too much trouble. You know how times posters skim over stuff. Anyway, Thank you, for posting what you have here.

I'm disgusted with election year panderers, who act like this problem has just cropped up.

I understand how you feel, but I see it a bit differently. If these people will only do something productive when their jobs are threatened, then at least we have leverage every four years. I'm just hoping that if we support the Pubs when they actually do grow some stones, maybe they'll take a hint and do it again and again. It's about friggin' *time*!! ;-)

From what I read on the other threads, the President can call them back, but it has to be for an agenda set by the Senate -controlled by democrats- for extraordinary circumstances.

Democrats don’t see $4.00 gallon gas as much of an issue. I know his hands are tied on this, But President Bush could at least address it a bit more than he has been. Prehaps he’s waiting for more momentum to build. Strategery, ya know.

Boy, look at those Democratic districts here in NC (especially the First and the Twelfth). Don’t think THOSE were gerrymandered for racial purposes, do ya?

Sadly, I live here in the Fourth District...Rat David Price.

If the Republicans in Congress work this issue, they should get the benefit. If the President leaps up to help them (and you know that he would in a heartbeat if it were of value), then they are undercut because the President solves the problem.

Whereas if they keep this up and get national attention, more than the conservative Dems in Congress could be at risk.

That’s what I think.

I also think that the leadership is watching how events are viewed to make decisions about what to do next.

If they really want the President to make them all sit there, while Nancy decides not to call them to order, they will let the President know. Offline.
