Before the forged CoLB was released, there were Dr. Corsi and expatguy looking into it, with the release of the forgery Polarik steadfastly and persistently investigated it and found the text had been modified. Techdude first launched his investigation on AtlasShrugs, a conservative site run by Pam Geller.
The media dynamics of the coverage of this story are different for reasons I don't see that anyone has been able to explain in a way that is serious.
