Started reading a book last night on the history of the Oklahoma Glenn Pool discovery in 1905. It really kept me up last night it was so interesting.
OIL HAS HELPED TO MAKE THIS ONE OF THE GREATEST COUNTRIES ON EARTH!
House rules: no cameras except cspan, and only during a session.
There are ways of forcing votes. Difficult, inconvenient, costly, but available. Worst case, have Bush call for the House to reconvene for that vote.

Then I think the republicans should do just that. This is a good start. Democrats are notoriously hard to embarass, but even they might find it preferable to return to session rather than being put on the defensive over this very uniting issue. After a few days in their districts with Americans favoring drilling 3-to-1, the House floor might seem like a vacation.
There's the water ... drink already!

Just got back from my reps. office, Bill Foster, who took Denny Hastert’s office. I mentioned that I had seen he had voted to adjourn on Friday and they said that was incorrect. They showed me the vote and said to check the www.GovTrack.us website for information regarding the votes. I thanked them for correcting me and said to tell him I was glad to hear he voted against adjourning on Friday. But I did ask them to relay my wish for him to contact the Speaker and ask that they get back to D.C. to vote on drilling. 5 weeks is way too long to wait for them.
It started as a joke, and although she remained a joke, the media was engaged.
It was the beginning of a very rough year for GW.
Perhaps we could return the favor.
:) Let him focus on his job right now. Chief Deputy Whip Eric Cantor is doing a fabulous job.
I agree that he would make a wonderful VP, but he is great to focus on this vote.
Just left a message on John McCain’s ‘voicemail’ to encourage him to fly to Washington and join the House Republicans in calling for an immediate up or down vote on The American Energy Act!

Chapter 14, The Plan to Nationalize the Oil Companies.
What we currently have is a government (Democrat) engineered crisis.
What a perfect scenerio to ‘sharpen the contradictions’! (An old Communist term)
The ‘Progressives’ realize that higher taxes will not provide the revenues they require for their massive entitlements to soothe the ‘plantation’. So, they need a ‘sovereign wealth fund’. They think this is a democracy of mob rule and if enough people call for it, the Nationalization of ‘Big Oil’ would give them an ‘in’.
People who believe in private property rights should be upset!
thx....
(btw— I am not a sir)
;-)
You are too stupid to realize that the republicans were forced out by Nancy, yes, maybe they could have stayed without getting arrested but even so they would have appeared to the rest of the world as not "following the rules".
Now they have followed the rules, the dems can say that they are using guerrilla tactics but the truth is, and it has been pointed out, that they are perfectly withing their rights to speak 5 mins at a time even though they are adjourned, as long as it is during the appointed hours for business. Pelosi is the technical rule breaker because she turned out the lights, mics and camera feed, she has abused her power and it is the defining action of this event. Obeying the rules is critical in getting what we want done, done. Now if that doesn't explain it to your satisfaction then you are even stupider than I give you credit for, and believe me I think you are pretty damn stupid already, and a hot head to boot.
I did. He’s not there, and doesn’t plan to be.
