Blitzer is finally covering this on CNN.
Hint that Senate is counting down for a compromise.
I figured something was up. Dems ARE scared of this issue.
Keep ears to ground.
Watch the video. McCain did the right thing here for once. We should applaud him for it.
A M E N!!!!
Alternately, he can call their bluff and make a recess appointment. The Senate cannot argue both ways simultaneously. And he certainly can call back just the House. If the vote happens, the pressure on the Senate will be enormous. Quite frankly, GWB owes it to future Presidents to call the Senate on their recess game. Let a Republican Senator attempt to conduct the people’s business and then issue a statement that the Senate is in defacto recess, make an appointment, and dare them to challenge. It’s not like he has anything to lose. Embrace the duck, so to speak.
Charm school?
That woman has as much charm as a black adder!! LOL!
OMG! That’s unreal.
Email from Congressman Eric Cantor.Dear Friend, Last Friday, the United States House of Representatives, under Democrat Leadership, adjourned for a 5-week vacation. Normally, no one would raise an eyebrow; however, when the Democrats left, they did so without passing any form of energy legislation. They have left for over a month without doing anything to help lower gas prices. That means we’ll see another month of inaction on the energy crisis. The Democrats left, they turned off the lights, they turned off the cameras and they turned off the microphones. But, House Republicans did not leave. That’s right, House Republicans are still here, talking to the American people, demanding that House Democrats come back and ease the increasing burdens on families. Republicans are fighting so that the American people are not left high and dry. Now, we need your help. Join us by signing this petition to call on the Democrat Leadership to return to Washington, DC, to pass a bill that will increase American energy supply, open up offshore drilling and eliminate our reliance on foreign oil. This is supposed to be the People’s House. It’s unfortunate that the Democrats don’t see it that way. Sign the Petition at www.CallCongressBack.com today. Regards,Eric Cantor United States Congressman P.S. Sign the petition to Call Congress Back to lower the price of gas.
This needs to be a NEW THREAD!!
IN BREAKING NEWS!!!!!
YOU ROCK!!!
Screw the Senate ‘Compromise’!!
Geez...would someone call them and tell them to get a clue!!
The House Republicans have fired up the base for the first time in this election cycle, money is pouring into the republican coffers and the SENATE WANTS TO SHUT IT ALL DOWN?
HAVE THEY LOST THEIR MINDS?
going to work out before I blow a gasket....lol
It already is a thread..that’s where I got it..lol
It would be bad for the Reps in Congress if the President stepped in now. The Reps in Congress have a good handle on this and deserve to reap the benefits of their hard work. If the President stepped in now, it would appear that he “saved” them, which is not right and I think not how the President would want to support the Reps.
I go back to my statement of many many posts ago. I think that the Reps will take it where they want to and when they are ready, they will make their case forcibly and openly to the President. Then they get the benefit of the victory.
I believe that the President will do whatever he can to help the Reps in Congress and I believe that John Boehner, Eric Cantor, et al. have a good handle on this situation.
lol
that link isn’t working ... too new to be in all the DNS servers maybe?
All about oil,He supports drilling off shore, in anwr, basically, drill here, drill now.
Thanks for the thread.

It should work..I just signed it. Hopefully it is getting overloaded!!
Yippie!!
It’s Congress who has to wrestle with the issue and I believe that they have a very good handle on it.
If they truly need the President to swoop in right now and take away this golden opportunity for them and instead make it seem as though they are not a coequal branch of government, then the President would do so.
But that would be a foolish tactic so soon. At this point, the citizens will be angry at the Dems in Congress, and well they should be. That has to work in first before Nancy is called back.
