I'm not keen on recess appointments in any event - I think the government (admin and Congress) have been acting unconstitutionally in this area for generations. If the Senate is in session, it should act on nominations (up or down) instead of playing footsie. The recess power is supposed to be a concession to the reality that the Congress used to meet for only a month or two out of the year, and executive offices needed to be filled. The current reality is that there is a wild proliferation of executive offices (many of which can go unfilled for extended periods) and a dysfunctional/irresponsible Senate.

This closing of the Alaska pipeline is, I strongly suspect, all part of the Liberal, Globalist, Environmentalist (add other scoundrels here at your leisure) plot to destroy the superpower status of America and relegate us to a serf status - or at least one which can conveniently controlled.
How can America remain a superpower when we produce less than 30% of our own absolutely crucial oil which this country must have to run? America could supply all of it - all of it - if we chose! But we don't. Instead, we purposefully rely on others - including sworn enemies - to both supply it and bankroll our foolishness?

Our annual trade deficit of over $700 billion dollars is "coincidentally" about what we pour out for our foreign oil. Our enemies today essentially own the energy pricing mechanism and product and we must go hat in hand to cartels like OPEC for more supply and relief.
Meanwhile, pocketbooks of individual Americans are being destroyed daily in the crush of high energy prices and this reverberates in all sorts of terrible and personal ways throughout our economy. Your impending loss of livelihood is one example - and there are many millions of other Americans (most of us, actually) in the same rapidly sinking national boat. Our currency is being destroyed right along with our livelihoods and standard of living.
And in the midst of this genuine national security crisis which portends impending economic doom and long-lasting servitude for America,... Pelosi sends Congress home on vacation refusing to even discuss the problem on nearly every American's mind - probably in the hope of continuing the downward spiral for the agenda of those who have set in in motion and maintained it for so many years...

She was fantastic - discussing tax policy and how it helps or hurts our economy. I wish she would show up on every show possible. She is a beautiful replacement for the Dick Armey, Phil Gramm, type of commentator of the nineties.
She was paired with Laura Tyson of the Clinton administration.
Nancy hardly let Laura or Wolf get a word in.
