“Kidnappings and Flooding Leave Northeast India in Turmoil”

Gospel for Asia
For Immediate Release

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “NORTHEAST INDIA (ANS) — From kidnapped children in Manipur to flooding in Assam, the Northeast corner of India is in a state of unrest and upheaval.

At least 24 children have been reported missing in Manipur, and police think this number might be even higher.

It is believed that a rebel group has been kidnapping the children to make them child soldiers. Although the militants claim that they are simply recruiting the children and that the children join of their own free will, most believe that the group is abducting them.

In light of these events, some parents have stopped sending their children to school by themselves, and school authorities have decided that parents must pick their children up when school lets out.”

Precision operation detains suspected Samarra AQI leader
BAGHDAD – Coalition forces captured four wanted men and detained 11 additional suspects during operations in central and northern Iraq Tuesday targeting al-Qaeda leaders and their liaisons.

Coalition forces conducted a precision operation and captured a wanted man near Samarra. The man is believed to oversee attacks in the area and reportedly replaced another AQI suspect who was detained during an operation Jul. 22.

Coalition forces captured two wanted men assessed to be part of the AQI network in Sharqat, south of Mosul. The two operations, in Mosul and farther south in Bayji, netted five additional suspected terrorists.

In Baghdad, Coalition forces captured a wanted man who was reportedly visiting Iraq before departing to conspire with his foreign terrorist facilitation contacts outside the country. He and one additional suspect were detained in a house that appeared to be set up as a transient location.

Coalition forces also targeted members of a car-bombing network in Baghdad and detained one suspected terrorist.

Information from an operation Jul. 31 helped Coalition forces target an AQI liaison in Mosul, where they detained four suspected terrorists.
