Republican presidential candidate John McCain's daughter Meghan is just 23-years-old, but she's had her own political evolution.
"I almost registered as a Democrat to be rebellious, but I registered as an Independent instead," she tells Glamour in its September issue. "Then my dad bragged about it, so it backfired."
Meghan, a self-described "total daddy's girl," registered as a Republican as a Father's Day gift last month.
Though she's been crossing the country by bus to help the campaign, she takes issue with parts of the GOP platform.
"I don't relate to the hard right," she admits. "I think it's time to reinvent the Republican Party. And I think my dad can do it."

This is a conservative site, not a Republican one. As a Conservative, I want no part of the “reinvented” Republican Party that is just another Left leaning tool in McCain’s hands.
I wish that was true here where I live. Since they went all mail in ballot they don't have to exert themselves to go vote.
i also rebelled, went left at her age. thought it was kind of a normal thing. i found my way back — when i had to pay my own bills! i agree we ought to leave the kid alone: she’s only acting her age.
My 3 kids either early vote or mail in too. It could be a real factor in the end this time.
The purist conservatives on our side are a tiny unappeasable minority and McCain really does not need their vote. He has plenty of votes from normal Republicans, Conservatives, Independents and even some democrats that he going to be our next President.
She sounds like a total air head.
As a Conservative, I want no part of the reinvented Republican Party...
Understood. But as an American, do you want a part of the reinvented socialist party governing the United States under Prez Baraq?
I know...it’s I just cannot stand these people who insist on bashing McCain every single chance they get. Obama couldn’t have gotten luckier with some Conservatives in this Country. But I agree with you, Obama will not win, as of today. But this has been one bizarre election season!
Yeah, yeah, Rudybot. Repeat your nonsense all you want. It’s people like YOU that have let the GOP get to the leftist mess that have caused all these internal squabbles. Folks like you aren’t content with just switching to D. You need to try and bully everyone in the opposite party into your point of view. Well, like I said, go to hell.
Good AmericanInTokyo, go ahead and vote for third party, write in, stay home, or even vote for Obama, as I said to people like you before McCain does not need your vote and he should not seek it. He is going to be the next President without your vote.
Bully? Exactly WHO was banned from this site during the primaries? In case you forgot it was anyone who didn’t tow your line. So, again, STFU.
People like us voted in 2006. It was the Reagan Democrats that saw no difference in the two parties, then as McCain is demonstrating now, that led to the 2006 defeats when they went “home.”
Im making a list here of all who must tell us, ad nauseum, that they will not vote for McCain.
You should have a ping list too
Is that the reinvinted Socialist Party ushered in by McCain or by Obama? I get them confused.
We don’t have a conservative in the race, boo-hoo. Get over it. We do have a full blown communist in the race and a need to make sure we only have a liberal to defeat in the next election. The alternative could be that there won’t be a next election.
True. But not in the direction McCain will reinvent it.
