John McCain has five weeks to choose his Vice Presidential running mate. Typically the most a presidential candidate can hope for is a partner who does him no harm. That criteria having been met, the choice is only important if the race is close; landslides arent caused or prevented by vice presidential candidates.
So the question for John McCain is who, if anyone can significantly influence Americans to vote Republican in November. The answer is Mitt Romney -- and for many more reasons than that he can deliver Michigans 17 electoral votes to the Republican column for the first time since 1988.

Were you implying that you would not vote for a McCain/Romney ticket because of Romney's position on abortion?
He is a fighter

Were you implying that you would not vote for a McCain/Romney ticket because of Romney’s position on abortion

Yes...
Romney has been an abortion pusher since 1970 ...
I supported life long conservative, pro-lifer, intelligent, well educated, attorney, Vietnam Veteran, 20 years in Congress, one wife, lovely children, grandchildren, son in Iraq, Duncan Hunter all the way through 2007 and voted for him in the TN primary..
Other than realizing that FRed had the best chance of getting the nomination and therefore I was prepared to vote for him instead in November, I would have loved to have seen President Duncan Hunter in the White House...
All the virtues and strengths that the Romneybots attribute to Romney are real in Duncan Hunter...
Even the fence that Romney used for a prop in his phony 180 degree change sides on the illegal alien issue was built by Duncan during the interval that Romney was supporting the AMNESTY Bill with “ we need a pathway to citizenship” and “we cant send them back”
Oh, and why do you afore him being the liberal he is?
In your dreams too.
Well said, Libbylu, on all counts!!!!!
I’m sure women had nightmares when Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were running the roads like highwaymen, just taking any woman they lusted after, whether or not she was willing...
The dreams of those poor victims must have been heart wrenching....
I know.. some of those women are UGLY!
Screw you.
From now on I am going to shun you and I encourage all others to do so as well.
Well that just ruins my whole mood, tell you what.
I could lend to you my poop catcher mit ... for when a ‘so-called’ pitches that effluent at ya. I get to use the mit a lot lately. Getting good at tossing it back, too! I posted an op-ed about the election and got mostly poop pitching and insults. Oh well ...
versus "We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldnt make any sense at all.""

I'm very clear I think, to the people across the Commonwealth
my "R" didn't stand so much for Republican as it does for reform."

It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

I didn’t post to you. I’ve read enough of your garbage in the past to know better, you’re not worth the time. I am not racist or bigoted, but I don’t give a hoot of you think I am.
You go ahead and vote for your boy, Obama.....
