Have a Ford Freestar bought new. In May, with 70,000 miles, the transmission went out.
The same month my Taurus with 60,000 miles, had the exhaust system fall off and the electric window opener failed in the drivers window. I also had them fix the stereo speaker that went bad at 40,000 miles and the air temperature sensor that went bad at the same time.

These items that I had to fix are simple quality issues; a lack of attention to minor details.

I have bought Ford since 1978 specifically to support an American based company.
The above is how I was rewarded for that loyalty.

Sorry to hear this. I drove my 1993 Ford Explorer 250,000 miles with nary a blip. I traded it in on an Escape in 2003 (not really necessary) and I’ve had no problems with it whatsoever. I do think that there’s plenty of blame to go around. Detroit was extremely short sided. They should’ve been looking ahead about twenty years. They’ve just lived too long in the moment, a sure disaster for any company.

I hate hearing stories like that about Ford vehicles. My 1994 Explorer now has about 325,000 miles on it, and when I had some maintenance work done on it a few months ago the mechanic told me everyone in his shop insisted on taking it out for a “test/diagnostic drive” because nobody could believe how well it ran!
