WASHINGTON The Justice Department has indicted Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, on seven counts of making false statements to federal officers investigating an Alaska businessman.

This is one guy that should have went down a long time ago
BTTT
Would love to know more about this...
DOJ presser scheduled within the hour.
It must be pretty bad for him to be indicted.
Look at all the other fraudulent things Congresscritters have done and gotten away with it.
These things are timed to coincided for whatever reason and some are political.
Great..now we can run a honest conservative for his job.
They also should rename the airport in Anchorage. I would like to see Palin name herself or run. She needs to be on the National stage. We can find another conservative governor for Alaska.
I wonder what the latest news is about ‘Cold Cash’ Jefferson?
Yeah somebody without a bridge to nowhere
Stevens bridge might lead him right to jail!
The Dims and MSM will be singing about the “Culture of Corruption”
Time to take out the trash.
Bad timing since Obama is gasping for air with the bad polls, pressure to drill, wrong on the surge, lie about the leaked prayer, etc.
Let justice be done, no double standards.
Bad timing.. but I don’t think it’ll hurt too bad as long as it’s just Stevens.
It could hurt if there were several Republicans in this situation.
Was Stevens up for reelection?
Wasn’t there just a big bunch of indictments announced in Ohio, involving mostly Dems? Add this to the Ford problems in Tennessee, and (possibly) issues arising in NOLA, and you have the need to find a Republican bad guy for balance.
Yeah the FBI raided some offices in Ohio right?
Federal Prison is not like a truck but more like a series of tubes.
huh
This guy Stevens came off as an out-of-touch clown a long time ago.
And yes, Stevens is up for election this year against Against Mark Begich.
Ways are found to develop resources when resources are frozen. Unfortunately some politicians see this as an opportunity to get some bennies and other politicians see this as an opportunity to get into office themselves. One example is keeping ANWR closed to oil/gas leasing, but many other examples are all around the State.
Now it’s saying he’s being indicted for false statements.
He’s the longest serving Republican Senator.
That’s sad that sending him to prison is the only way to get him out of office!
