Is U.S. Bioterror Attack Just A Matter of Time?
The overriding question is whether the U.S. is ready for a bioterror attack. The answer could well rely on the other question of what bio-agent and whats the source? In 1991, 40,000 Russian scientists dispersed throughout the World, with knowledge of what the U.S.S.R. was doing in chemical and biological weapons. The question is to whom did they sell their knowledge? Some believe former Soviet scientists sold technology to countries like Iran, Syria, and North Korea. Lurking is the spectre of al-Qaeda, a group that the Pentagon says continues to pursue biological weapons.
Another scenario is an outbreak of a pandemic. How would the U.S. deal with an infectious disease outbreak? The picture, despite reassurances, is not pretty. Until now, the U.S. has experienced two major biological attacks.
In 1984, the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and his followers attempted to take over the town of the Dalles, Oregon by contaminating salad bars in the town. In 2001, there was the as yet unsolved mystery of the anthrax letters that killed five people.
But the question of bioterrorism extends to potential threats against our food supply and our clean water resources. It also extends to the threat of outbreaks of diseases in our animals populations. Here, the concern are diseases that attack animals but that can jump to humans. These are referred to as zoonotic diseases. The World Health Organization defines zonnotic diseases as:

It sounds like a lovely day, that you will share with those you love.
LOL, have you forgotten the car trunk?
Or gift wrap the dirty clothes in a big box, and refuse to disclose what the gift is or who it is for.
LOL, that reminds me of the time sister Sherry and her husband were going to a big party and for some reason wanted to give the host a young weaner hog.....dressed in a cute outfit, that Sherry made for it.
A big gift wrapped box, with hidden air holes, carefully carried in and placed under the tree.
Then the box started making noises and moving, and the hosts dogs went crazy, LOL and there was almost a riot.

OFAC Identifies Entities Owned or Controlled by the Government of Iran
The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has identified the National Iranian Oil Company (a.k.a. NIOC), Naftiran Intertrade Company Ltd. (a.k.a. NICO), and Naftiran Intertrade Co. Sarl as entities owned or controlled by the Government of Iran.
The Iranian Transaction Regulations (ITR) include an appendix that contains a non-exhaustive list of entities determined by OFAC to be owned or controlled by the Government of Iran. The appendix can be accessed through OFAC’s website: http://www.treasury.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/programs/iran/iran.shtml (see “Overview of Sanctions”). OFAC is adding National Iranian Oil Company, Naftiran Intertrade Company Ltd., and Naftiran Intertrade Co. Sarl to this appendix. Certain entities listed in this appendix may be subject to further sanctions under other sanctions programs.
To date, the appendix has listed only financial institutions that were determined to be owned or controlled by the Government of Iran. The inclusion of the National Iranian Oil Company, Naftiran Intertrade Company Ltd., and Naftiran Intertrade Co. Sarl marks the first non-financial institutions to be added to the appendix. Moving forward, OFAC will continue to list both financial institutions and other entities that are determined to be owned or controlled by the Government of Iran.
While the ITR do not impose an asset freeze, they do prohibit most commercial and financial transactions with entities owned or controlled by the Government of Iran, regardless of where such entities are located or incorporated. Most transactions with any branches or subsidiaries of these entities are also prohibited, regardless of where such branches or subsidiaries are located and incorporated.
This appendix serves as a tool to assist U.S. persons in complying with the ITR. The identified entities are considered to be owned or controlled by the Government of Iran when they operate not only from the locations listed in the appendix, but also from any other location. The ITR prohibitions apply to all entities owned or controlled by the Government of Iran, regardless of where they are located or incorporated, even if they are not listed in the appendix. The prohibitions in the ITR also apply to transactions with entities located in Iran that are not owned or controlled by the Government of Iran.
Naftiran Intertrade Company Ltd. is a subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company that is registered in the United Kingdom and located in Jersey, Channel Islands, United Kingdom. NICO, in turn, has a subsidiary, called Naftiran Intertrade Co. (NICO) Sarl, which is incorporated and located in Switzerland. The ITR prohibit most transactions with NIOC, NICO and NICO Sarl, in any locations worldwide, because these companies are entities owned or controlled by the Government of Iran.
The Iranian Transactions Regulations, 31 C.F.R. part 560, define the term “Government of Iran,” in sections 560.304, to include any “entity owned or controlled by the Government of Iran,” a term which is itself defined in section 560.313. The relevant ITR language can be accessed through the following link: http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/waisidx_07/31cfr560_07.html

Terrorist Organizations
With Cuba State Affiliation
Glossary of Terrorist Organizations
BPP - Black Panther Party - Founded in the United States in 1966 by Huey P.
Newton and Bobby Seale. It adopted Marxist-Leninist principles along with
urban guerrilla warfare, and a structure similar to the American Communist
party.
DGI - Directrio General de Inteligencia - The Cuban Department in charge of
collecting intelligence and carrying out covert operations outside Cuba.
DA - America Department - Centralized control over Cuban activities for
supporting national liberation movements, responsible for planning and
coordinating Cuba’s secret guerrilla and terrorist camps, and propaganda
apparatus.
DLN - National Liberation Directorate - Organization created in Cuba to
support revolutionary groups throughout the world. Responsible for planning
and coordinating Cuba’s terrorist training camps in the island, covert
movement of personnel and military supplies from Cuba, and propaganda
apparatus.
EGP - Ejercito Guerrillero de los Pobres - A political-military
Marxist-Leninist organization that followed Cuba and Vietnam as
revolutionary models. This Guatemalan insurgent organization was trained in
Cuba and was very active during the 1970s, seeking to depose the political
and military structure of the country.
ELF - Eritrean Liberation Front - The most influential Eritrean organization
fighting for secession from Ethiopia in the 1960s, actively supported by the
Cuban and Syrian regime since 1965. Various internal divisions developed
later on until the late 1970s, when a new front was built based on very
different domestic and external alliances and, eventually led the Eritreans
to victory. Cuba’s support to Mengistu Haile Mariam’s regime in 1978 meant
the cessation of previous Cuban backing to the Eritrean cause.
ELN - National Liberation Army - Organized by the Castro regime, this
Colombian Marxist insurgent group was founded in 1965. Its main terrorist
activities includes kidnapings and extortion targeting foreign employees of
large corporations.
ETA - Basque Separatist Movement - This organization was founded by
militants and leftist students from the University of Madrid in 1962. They
formed guerilla units that commit violent terrorist acts claiming that they
are fighting for freedom of the Basque Region, in Spain. This group has
close relations with the IRA. The two groups have offices in Havana and
their members have found safe haven in Cuba.
FALN - Fuerzas Armadas de Liberacion Nacional - A Venezuelan guerrilla
organization trained by Cuba in violence and terrorism.
FARC - Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - Established in 1964, the
FARC is the oldest and best-equipped Marxist insurgency in Colombia. It is a
well-organized terrorist group that controls several rural and urban areas.
It has received financial and military aid from Cuba and many of its members
were trained in Havana.
FATAH - Palestine National Liberation Movement - Founded in 1959 by younger
generations of Palestinians that had experienced the defeats of 1948 and
1956. The FATAH are strongly committed to a radical nationalist platform to
fight for Palestine and against Arab intervention and manipulations of the
Palestinian problem. Mostly an underground organization until the June War
in 1967 when it transformed itself into the most powerful and influential
party inside Palestinian and Arab politics.
FLN - Front de Liberation National - The political and military organization
that led the war of national liberation against French colonial rule between
1954 and 1962. Ruling political party until the 1980s in Algeria.
FMLN - Farabundo Mart National Front - Formed in 1970, the FMLN is a
terrorist Marxist-Leninist organization intent on establishing a communist
revolutionary regime in El Salvador. The FMLN was extremely active in its
terrorist campaign, receiving assistance from Nicaragua and Cuba.
FSLN - Frente Sandinista de Liberacion Nacional - This organization was
founded in Havana in 1961 when Carlos Fonseca-Amador’s Nicaraguan Patriotic
Youth organization merged with Tomas Borge’s Cuban-supported insurgent
group. The group adopted Marxist-Leninist ideology and gained support from
the Castro government, employing low-level guerrilla warfare and urban
terrorism tactics to overthrow the Somoza dictatorship.
IRA - Irish Republican Army - The IRA is the most dangerous terrorist
organization of Northern Ireland dating back to the early 1920s. Although,
it wasn’t until the 1970’s when the IRA began terrorist actions and
resurrected the historical conflicts. The IRA targets political
transformation for United Ireland by eliminating Britain from Northern
Ireland and replacing the government of Northern Ireland with a socialist
government. Its Latin American headquarters are in Havana.
LASO - Latin American Solidarity Organization - A Cuban controlled
organization founded during the 1966 Tri-Continental Conference in Havana to
“coordinate and foment the fight against North American imperialism.”
M-19 - Movimiento 19 de Abril - A Castro supported group formed in 1974 to
disrupt Colombia’s government through acts of terrorism and violence. The
M-19 was very active throughout the 1980s receiving assistance and training
from the Montoneros and Tupamaros groups and the Cuban government, causing
Colombia to temporarily sever diplomatic relations with Cuba.
M-6-14 - Agrupacion Politica Catorce de Junio - Dominican guerrilla
organization trained in Cuba.
MACHETEROS - This terrorist organization is composed of four Puerto Rican
groups: 1) the Macheteros, 2) the Ejercito Popular Boracua (EPB), 3) the
Movimiento Popular Revolucionario, and 4) the Partido Revolucionario de
Trabajadores Puertorrique±os. Most of the Macheteros have been trained in
Cuba, were they have established relations with other terrorist groups. They
are responsible for several terrorist acts within the United States and
throughout Puerto Rico.
MIR - Movimiento de la Izquierda Revolucionaria - A Chilean insurgent
organization founded in 1965 and supported by Castro. The MIR was very
active in the mid-1970s when they promoted violence and occupied several
rural areas in Chile. The group encountered several set backs during the
1980s that essentially ended their activity.
MONTONEROS - An Argentinean guerilla organization that was formed in 1968 as
a Peronist urban anti-government group. It adopted a Marxist ideology in the
mid-1970s after it united with the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de
Argentina. In 1977, many of its members were exiled and its numbers reduced
to less than 300.
MRTA - Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement - Marxist-Leninist revolutionary
organization formed in 1983 and supported by the Castro regime. The MRTA’s
intent was to establish a Marxist regime in Peru through terrorism, although
Peru’s counter terrorism program diminished the groups’ ability to
effectively carry out terrorist attacks.
NLF - National Front for the Liberation of South Yemen - Created in 1962 in
the course of the revolution in North Yemen against the monarchy and
supported by Nasser, the NLF is another important and successful branch of
the Arab Nationalist Movement. Since 1965 it has had very close relations
with Cuba. In 1966-1967, it broke with Nasser and finally forced the British
to negotiate and evacuate Aden.
OSPAAL [OSPAAAL] - Organization for the Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and
Latin America - Founded in 1966 in Cuba at the Tri-Continental Conference,
this organization aims to support the struggle of the people of Africa, Asia
and Latin America against imperialism, colonialism and neo-colonialism.
PLO - Palestine Liberation Organization - This organization was founded in
Cairo in 1964 under the auspices of Egypt (then known as the United Arab
Republic) to serve Nasser’s manipulations of the Palestinian cause. The
group was composed mostly of conservative Palestinian intellectuals and
bureaucrats serving Arab governments. The PLO was an instrument of Nasser’s
foreign policy until the June War of 1967, when the old PLO leadership
collapsed to be replaced by FATEH’s leadership headed by Arafat.
POLISARIO - People’s Front for the Liberation of Western Sahara and Rio del
Oro - The Frente POLISARIO was inspired by the ANM tradition and the
Algerian FLN and was created to fight against the
Spanish-Morrocan-Mauritinian arrangements to split the former colony of
Sagu a el Hamra/Rio del Oro (known as Western Sahara) between the two
African states. This group enjoyed active support from Algeria and Libya and
Cuba.
POPULAR FRONT FOR THE LIBERATION OF PALESTINES - The most important branch
of the Arab Nationalist Movement (ANM), created in the 1950s as radical
followers of Nasser. After the June War of 1967, the group disassociated
itself from Nasser and focused on building a more radical alternative within
the Palestinians under the name of Popular Front. The group has strong
alliances within Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, and the Gulf, and was heavily
engaged in terrorist activities during the 1970s.
TRICONTINENTAL - Cuban publication disseminated by the Organization for the
Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (OSPAAL) [OSPAAAL] in four
languages: Spanish, English, French, and Italian / promoting the Castro line
of armed struggle.
TUPAMAROS or MNL - Movimiento Nacional de Liberacion Tupamaros - This
Uruguay insurgent group was organized in the early 1960s by law student Raul
Sendic. The Tupamaros were one of the first terrorist groups to use
guerrilla warfare in urban areas and established independent terrorist cells
throughout the country.
WORLD MATHABA - A Libyan project from the late 1970s to promote political,
financial, and military support for revolutionary movements throughout the
world. Ghaddafi called on other “revolutionary governments” to support this
project, which Cuba did. MATHABA was essentially a tool in the hands of the
Libyans to project their individual goals and agenda. Financial and military
assistance was never a collective decision, but responded for the most part
to bilateral arrangements between Ghaddafi’s regime and individual
organizations, some of which resorted, at different stages, to terrorist
methods like the IRA and ETA. Insurgencies in Central America, like the
Sandinistas and others, were privileged beneficiaries along with the African
National Congress, Frente POLISARIO, and others.

Mumbai Under Terrorist Siege
Mumbai Under Terrorist Siege
http://threatswatch.org/rapidrecon/2008/11/mumbai-under-terrorist-siege/
Islamic terrorists have launched an organized multi-faceted attack on Mubai, India. Ten
locations have come under attack, including hotels, hospitals, a housing complex, bus
stations, cafes and other locations. Latest figures indicate 85 known dead and
approximately 200 wounded, figures sure to climb after control restored and buildings
cleared of terrorists and their hostages.
The attack is ongoing and the situation is still fluid.
Shlok Vaidya said of the attack, “Think Manhattan under assault by jheavily armed small
units with grenades, explosives and AK-47’s.” Mumbai is currently in a state of mayhem
as security forces have scrambled to respond. Shlok has initial analysis of the Mumbai
terrorist siege at India’s Naxalite Rage.
The Indian state has apparently decided to restart its very vulnerable railway system. This
is decidedly a bad move because it is extremely vulnerable and has itself been a frequent
target of attacks in the past. Order must be restored before such moves are made risking
the public safety.

In keeping informed going forward, also include Shlok’s Twitter feed for one of the best
sources of rapid analysis, context and developments on the unfolding situation in
Mumbai.

ANTHRAX, HUMAN 2006 - UK (03): (SCOTLAND), INQUEST

Warfare experts from the USA and Germany gave advice on
decontamination after an anthrax death in the Scottish Borders, a
fatal accident, the inquiry has been told. UK authorities had so
little experience of the disease, they got international help after
the incident in 2006 when a man, 50 years old, of Stobs village near
Hawick, died as a result of inhaling anthrax spores.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard there was “limited experience” worldwide
in dealing with such clean-up operations.
Early investigations centered on the man’s own home. However, Dr Colin
Ramsay, of Health Protection Scotland, said attention later turned to
drumming classes he had attended. He said he was “surprised” when test
results showed the man was more likely to have caught anthrax while at
the classes rather than from cutting up animal skins in his own home.
His house was found to be clear of spores, but some were found on
drums and at Smailholm village hall near Kelso where classes were
held. The man had attended a class there days before he died.
Dr Ramsay said the investigation results had been unexpected. “We
thought he was more likely to have got it from shaving infected drum
skins, and we were surprised not to find any evidence of that,” he
said. “We were equally surprised to find it on the drums themselves
and that this turned out to be the most probable explanation for how
he came into contact with them.”
He said they took advice from warfare experts in Germany and America
before instructing US company Sabre to decontaminate the hall using
chlorine dioxide gas in March 2007. “Nobody in the UK had been
involved in anything like this,” said Dr Ramsay. “Worldwide, there is
limited experience of dealing with a situation like this.”
The inquiry, before Sheriff Principal Edward Bowen QC, continues.

A top scientist has told a hearing it remains “notoriously difficult”
to identify drums infected with anthrax before they are imported to
the UK. Dr Graham Lloyd was giving evidence to a fatal accident
inquiry into the 2006 death of a 50-year-old man. He said it was
“reasonable” to conclude the man had picked up the disease from
contact with infected drums. However, he said there were a “lot of
uncertainties” about whether simply playing drums could release the
spores.
The man, of Stobs village, near Hawick in the Scottish Borders, died
in 2006 after inhaling anthrax spores. The fatal accident inquiry is
hoping to establish exactly where he picked up the disease and why he
was the only person affected.
Dr Lloyd, a consultant clinical scientist in novel and dangerous
pathogens at the Health Protection Agency, told the inquiry his team
tested samples from the man’s body. They found a rare strain of
anthrax not seen in the UK before.
The man had been attending West African drumming classes in the
Borders and was known to have been using animal skins to make drums at
home. Suspecting the man had caught the disease while handling
infected animal skins, the scientists tested his cottage but found no
trace of the anthrax. Tests later found it in the home of 2 other
drumming teachers, in a van they used to transport drums, and a garage
at a teacher’s parents’ house where drums had been stored. It was also
found on 3 drums taken from them for testing after the man’s death. Dr
Lloyd said the strain of anthrax discovered appeared to be the same as
that which the man had contracted.
Smailholm village hall, where classes were held and drums stored, had
to be decontaminated after anthrax was found on furniture and floors.
Fiscal depute Martin Macari asked: “Are you able to say how likely it
is that [he] must have got anthrax from being in contact with drums
that were at these locations?” Dr Lloyd replied: “It would seem a
reasonable conclusion, yes.” Mr Macari asked whether it was possible
that anthrax spores could be released by simply playing drums. “You
could say it’s a possibility, but there are a lot of uncertainties,”
Dr Lloyd added.
He was asked to explain why initial tests on the drumming teachers’
drums had failed to find anthrax but later tests had proved positive.
He said it was difficult to be certain with anthrax and that initial
checks often missed it.
Mr Macari asked how the tests could tell which drums coming into the
UK had anthrax on them. “It’s going to be notoriously difficult to be
100 percent certain that any sampling is going to give you the result
that you are looking for; it depends on the style of drum and the
state of it,” said Dr Lloyd.
The inquiry, before Sheriff Principal Edward Bowen QC, continues.

[For the earlier official report from NHS borders see:
http://www.nhsborders.org.uk/uploads/18645/anthrax_report_131207.pdf
It addresses, at least as best as possible in a retroactive manner,
the questions raised in the press last week by the drumming teacher
whose drums brought from Africa were implicated, but who sounded as
though she had been targeted by HPA. As noted on page 30 and 31, the
only drum found to be positive with the genotype with which the
patient was infected belonged to the drumming teacher(s). They had a
number of drums, though, that had contaminated hides and with
different strains
And amazingly enough (or not, if he had only worked with domestic
road-kill badger skins to make drumheads), there was not a spore to
be found at the patient’s home and workshop.
The terms of the inquiry were defined on 3 Jul 2008:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/south_of_scotland/7487212.stm
From the very rapid lethality of his infection, it is clear that he
had essentially no resistance to his infection, in spite of his
leucaemic remission. Put another way, if he had missed the class and
bought a contaminated hide, that would have killed him. But in that
regard, it is unfortunate that the investigators sterilized the
infected drums almost as soon as they had tested and found them
positive. A controlled drumming exercise with air samplers would have
revealed much about the probable dose that killed him but was
inadequate to infect anyone else in the class or riding in the drum
owner’s van.
On the other hand, we can assume that there will be more instances
with contaminated African goat hides and drums. So I encourage our
members to read the Borders report and, with the advantage of 20:20
hindsight, plan what they will do when they get a case, hopefully
only one, on their doorstep. - Mod.MHJ]

First fire, then mudslide fears, now an earthquake in Yorba Linda*
11:35 AM, November 26, 2008
Poor Yorba Linda. The city lost more than 100 homes during the Freeway Complex fire and now is bracing for possible mudlsides because of the rains. Now, the United States Geological Survey reports a 3.0 temblor struck about five miles east-southeast of the Orange County suburb around 11 a.m. This time, no reports of damage or injuries.
Updated: The Orange County Fire Authority has sent up a helicopter to see if the 3.0 quake moved any soil in the burn zone. It’s unclear how widely spread the quake was felt in the Yorba Linda area.

I wonder how many of these moles are hiding in plain sight these days.<<<
Far more than most know, I post many reports direct from the FBI offices and you will never see the report in the paper or on the news.
I think that I am almost glad that I do not go out of the house any more, LOL, I would be looking at their eyes and getting names so I could google them.
There have been several top of the line China spy’s arrested and convicted and not a word in the news, it is running about one trial a month that I am catching, so you know how many that I miss, and that the FBI have not learned of as yet.
Thanks for coming over to read here, that New York threat is real and has been planned and tested for years, we have been picking up bits and pieces of the story and knew it would come about one day...
