Former NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr. Edgar Mitchell a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission claims aliens exist. He says extraterrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades. Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview in Birmingham, England, that sources at NASA who had had contact with aliens described the beings as "little people who look strange to us." He said supposedly real-life ET's were similar to the traditional image of a "small gray" short, slight frame, large eyes and large head. Mitchell also claimed human technology is "not nearly as sophisticated" as the aliens' and "had they been hostile," he warned "we would be been gone by now."

My dad may or may not have worked for the CIA at a facility that may or may not be located in Australia. Some of the people he may or may not have worked with went on to write books about aliens because they knew that the government, if asked, would never confirm or deny that they ever worked there and would never confirm or deny what they did there and that would bolster their credibility with the UFO community and increase their book sales. They all that that was funny.

If they can manage interstallar/galactic travel they are definitely either scientific or magical. So your hypothesis is a valid one.

Homer: STOP! Those candidates are phonies!
[Crowd murmurs]
Homer: You heard me! They're alien replicons from beyond the moon!!!
I think Homer might be on to something this year...

Tactically thinking - element of surprise for invasion for example find out if there’s any technology or conditions that could thwart your invasion.
Ethically thinking - sudden shock to the locals caused unintentional disruption which interferred with their mission or caused unrecoverable turmoil/collapse of society.
Possibility for both violent and non-violent intent ET’s. If they exist and have visited, almost anything is plausible.

I have an uncle, Bolivar Stopfart, that has a gofer that claims to be from the planet Fullahshit. When the White Coats came to get Bolivar, he was my mother's sister's brother on my father's side, he was put in a straight jacket. The gofer got away. It seems that Scotty beamed him up. Sad story.

I wont confirm or deny that, but I was born in Alice Springs.
I was about 10 when it first occured to me to ask why I was born there and was shocked when I was told, "because, now drop it".

Edgar Mitchell co-founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences in 1973. Some of the things researched at the institute include: spiritual energy, meditation, consciousness, alternative healing, spirituality, human potential, psychic abilities, and life after death.
He's said that he was cured of cancer by the "remote healing" abilities of someone called Adam Dreamhealer.
In other words, he's nuttier than a fruitcake.

After the whole Lisa Nowak Depends incident, the title “ex-astronaut” can no longer be used to bolster credibility.
